Funny story, one team tried to submit that as their team name for one of the previous TM events, 2018 maybe? Given that it was back when the site was a little more active it was first come first serve for joining the event and multiple people were refreshing the thread waiting for it to unlock so they could immediately enter. Some of them submitted after the atlas shrugged entry which caused them to have to scroll through the entire text to submit in the preview window.

I don't remember if anyone actually didn't get to play because of this or not.

We won't be revealing themes or mechanics prior to playerlist selection.

We will be using the information below to generate playerlists. The script we use takes these three things into consideration (game preference, blacklists, and game exceptions). I would caution everyone to be as flexible as possible, as there are 60 players playing, and the more blacklist and game exception selections these 60 players make, the less likely we will be able to generate perfect playerlists that accommodate all your preferences. We will prioritize blacklists over game exceptions, but we can't guarantee that we'll be able to craft the perfect playerlist that honors every blacklist or game exception. We will try our best, so please know if your preferences aren't matched with 100% we did not target you, it is ultimately what the formula spit out.

Deadline is Saturday. We plan to launch games soon after we receive all the information. If your team does not submit by deadline we will run the formula without your choices and you get what you get.

It was, speaking as one of the people responsible for running it, a colossal shitshow.

I think it was Kagami who initially submitted the name (indeed as a reference to the MIT Mystery Hunt) as the very first team signed up, but otherwise all very true.
