Hmm, is the Bristep wagon gonna do anything or should I switch...

Here's my issue, I'm currently stuck between Bri and El as the two people in the game I scumread.

El has much more tangible things to be suspicious of, what with the open manipulation of me with the activity point and the lying about reads thing. But El is being an proactive player today poking/prodding/getting info from other players, and that's a great asset to have in our town.

On the other hand, Bri has less sussy things around em. Sure the out of character response on Page 2 is something, but Bri has essentially chilled out, let the game play on, and not shown their hand too much from there. On the other hand, Bri isn't doing anything to rock the boat bar the Page 2 stuff. With this slot I'm trying to discern if this is scum!bri letting someone else take the pressure/attention, waiting for the wagon to simply peter out, or if this is a town!bri that wants to calm down, recollect themselves, and start sorting through their own reads.

I maintain that elements is probably just a villager

I think ckd is villagery, this is maybe partly subconsciously backed by understanding of them from that large normal

I think the push on elements is kinda goofy, like u talk about lack of town motivation to lie (I think, I skimmed quickly) but theres no scum motivation to lie about something like that can so easily be caught. consistency is like one of the easiest checkbox things for wolves to fake, I dont think ur gonna gotcha for a page 2 inconsistency that doesnt benefit wolf!element. I personally think the "get the game started" explanation for lying makes lots of sense but that's not even necessary for me

I think DFG is slightly villagery, the anticonsensusness of his reads without explaining them is +villager lol

I feel weird about this bristep RVS wagon sitting so high and would prob have unvoted 90% of the time but I think bristep is like, legit very very remarkably wolfy for a 5-poster and just dont want to unvote; I also think if bristep does end up w then geraintm's vote taking her wagon to 5 is like 70-80% villager lol

I think hu tao is pretty wolfy and underwhelming in comparison to the large normal, and would be a good counterwagon to bristep

emperor + Merlyn both stood out as a little underwhelming but in slightly less scummy ways than Hu tao

I think StD should come back and follow up on some things that would be cool

if that's everyone that's amazing I wasnt planning to do that and probably could've just made a readlist

Tbf I also play an insane amount of irl mafia so I've been improving massively at mafia over the past few years. Playing usually 2 games every Tues-Thurs for 3 years now (bar the summers). Plus I'm a bit of a tryhard in those and like to spend a lot of time analysing my own play/figuring out how I can handle my weaknesses or embolden my strengths so y'kno, it checks out.

But hey thanks for the compliment it means a lot <3 I've got a lotta weaknesses but this kind of Day 1 is my kinda game so I'm having a great time.

I think I'm somewhat in the same boat as you where I think scum doesn't tip their hand very much in the first day. Nor do I think there are really scumslips or scummy D1 actions in 90% of cases. But that doesn't make the first day pointless, tons of lines in the sand get drawn even if they're a little imaginary

Your description of Bristep could really apply to quite a few players, at least as it pertains to chilling out and letting the game play.

You're right that Bristep actually has almost no reaction to his wagon if you ignore the first "i shouldnt humour" comment. You mentioned bristep playing stoicly though.

It could be letting the pressure peter oout but if bri is town im not sure i'd expect much different. So then why Bri over anyone else?

I agree that it was a genuine comment, but I see it equally coming from a scum!bri who wants to use their previous 4 town games as leverage against the meta-based push. Like fundamentally the reason I'm still here on the wagon is because Bri has done absolutely nothing that has made me think they're town, and has done things that seem scummy to me compared to 2300.

this, but as much as subjectively I love the fact that Bri has acknowledged my meta read was correct and townreads me for it, this can easily again just be scum buddying up to me. Due to various incidents in the past where I've been prone to getting pocketed by players I originally thought were bad based on these kinds of reactions (El knows) I'm reading it as NAI for now. There's also the fact that when I push someone and they agree with my logic, that's gotta mean I'm at least somewhere close to on the money right?

As for my style, there were a few games quite close to each other I flaked on I think before taking a break for a while. My more recent games I think I've been one of the top posters in most of them as both alignments? Even in the one I replaced out of.

I think you're being disingenuous about that conversation. My joke post was a joke, and I dropped the point after you said this:

I will say tho I just had another read of 64 and I seemed to have decided in my head what Towwl said was subjective when looking back now it *is* just the objective fact of "CKD and Hu Tao both had a lot of people scumreading them in large 243 and both were town".

You -- where was this "Lie deliberately" and "post the most" in our previous games, why now? I was also mentioning Chara's folly but that game is several years old i wouldnt be surprised if u forgot it. Its possible that game wasn't indicative of how you usually play
