I would like to state, regardless of whether this is truly the set-up or not, having two scum Neighbors with a back-up Village Neighbor would be really funny.

That would piss me off and probably end up in a future game of mine.

I’ve thought of running a similar setup in the Normal queue before with 1 scum neighbor and 1 town neighbor and 1 backup town neighbor but I never actually got around to it

We are in a 9 player game. We have 2 dead VT’s and 2 VT claims.

4 VT’s is the minimum number of VT’s in a 9 player normal.

Thus, ZZZX and AnimatedWiz are completely clear.

This leaves 2 scum in (T3, TheHoldSteady, Random Nurse, BlueSnakelet, and heiphizhu)

I don’t think I have ever seen a neighborhood that contains all town. I think it is very likely there is at least one scum in Vlue

I highly doubt that TheHoldSteady is scum. Indecisive Doctor is a very strange claim for a newbie scum to make and that claim fits in with the setup needing a protective role.

one vanilla Townie in a game to be considered Normal? I mean, it’s possible we could only have three (Not_Mafia and Hu Tao) and it would still work, right?

let's say you're right and there's two scum neighbors. what would you have done in their position instead of outright claiming neighbors with each other? because it seems like a pretty weak scum team to me, almost too easy-sounding to be true.

Well, it could be negative utility (due to the possibility of being exposed by the Back-up Neighbor if they don’t play Villager theatre well enough) to balance out power roles or modifiers, like Unstoppable or Roleblocker.

Also, there’s a possibility that if they do play the theatre well, the surviving scum might be able to convince the Back-up to be on their side (to prevent a very swingy back-to-back scum elimination).

Essentially, it would be an additional skill-based modifier on the scum team—if they use their Neighborhood well, they can get by the Traffic Analyst and also possibly recruit the Back-up. If they don’t, they could get punished with the possibility of being exposed as quiet Neighbors.

…then again, this all relies on the unproven assumption that both Neighbors are scum, so who knows?

I'm not completely convinced that the neighborhood isn't town/scum -> town backup but I do agree there's at least one scum in the neighborhood. And just with everything else I've read so far I think this lim makes the most sense today

Just a quick note before I am gone,

I believe the neighbors, especially with the backup-claim.

Backup maf neighbor? Not the most common, but makes some sense.

Two Maf Neighbors? If that's what it is, I will be very disappointed, it would be interesting but disappointing.

I am conflicted on RN claim, would someone with such a useful role be so ready to risk the hammer? I mean, possibly if they think that their claim can save them... Or is it? It is a more easy role to fake I guess.

Yea I need to sleep on it and think, eliminating ( I almost slipped :') ) one of the neighbors could be possibility. I cannot say for sure. Maybe I will read in the morning, or maybe a day later, depends on how my work goes
