Fhe cats woke me up. Didnt even set an alarm. I didnt even want to be awake at this awful time. Anyway my dann style hypothesis is that if youre town then tris is the scum pushing you

I am more apathetic about this game than I would like to admit lmao but yeah of course. I hadn’t gone and checked their meta like I wanted to but their behaviour has been more retaliatory and reactionary than I would deem a townie would have, even one with “self image issues” for lack of a better term. They’ve been padding up their content with all forms of disclaimers and the like seemingly to protect their ass from backlash. The difference I feel between what I would consider general self-conscious behavior or even lack of self confidence is that they’ve been both retaliatory to people pushing against the things they already deemed to be “bad” from them. Which doesn’t seem genuine as if they believed that theyre as bad as they make it seem why fight back on Black in a shading/discrediting way. And I don’t recall much content from them that doesn’t have some form of protective behaviour surrounding it. They’re also detached from the reasoning of my push on them and I don’t think that is because of my legibility but if it is let me know, they thought my push on them was because of lack of content or fluff, I consider this them spilling out what they’re personally hyperaware about themselves (because it is true) thinking that it would be what I am pushing when it was not. Just elaborating on the particular behaviour I was referring to and the new thing I found from their behaviour I have yet to point out but was planning on it
no I just don’t really care and I made like two disclaimers early on one of which wasn’t really intended to be taken seriously

but fr fr i think it feels kinda like something out of the datisi scum playbook where it's like. feels like a good townie thing to do. watching for scum doing x thing bc scum would do x in this gamestate !
but it's kind of applying a formula rather than viewing things holistically
and that worries me a bit bc i think it isnt really the approach i expect from town dann
especially the first line of comparing it to a recent game experience is like. ok dann you've played a ton of games you know how to hunt scum. you have a process. why is that the most recent game suddenly put you on high alert for.... scum pushing people that are easy to push? it feels kinda off
No this is wrong, Dann used the same type of read in that game

More specifically this line, if he literally used it in that game as town then I don't get how that'd imply his process changed

yes my point is that its always something he's looking for so it's weird that he is talking about it as if he's introducing a new concept
It doesn't look like he's talking about it as a new thing to us? Can you quote the posts that gave you that impression

yesterday one cat stole the others food in the morning (no names bc i dont wanna dox them without permission) and then the other cat stole the first cat's food in the night and i was like great whats gonna happen this time but they seem to have settled on a Solution of Mutual Stealing

Pretty sure Black was asking about the "Black = town -> tris = scum" read you have there

tbh i probably wouldn't have even brought it up except as an aside if i hadn't been looking for an excuse to make a linguistic tell joke
but then i felt like i should probably also explain my thought process a bit. i still stand by it but its like, a matter of degrees i think
the post is in the direction im describing but it's nuanced and hard to clearly define bc the difference between town!dann explaining his process and scum!dann trying to look like he's town is going to be pretty minor bc he's good at scum
you're looking for this big obvious difference (which mayhaps is my mistake if i made it sound like there was one) but it's more in the tone and the framing and the fact that he chose to say it at all
sorry. that was a jouke. i was hoping to get this post out immediately after i made the joke about the cats but it turns out that it just took long.
ummmm idk why. i dont find dannflors read particularly convinced bc i think there are many reasons why someone might be less passionate or outspoken in a game and i guess there wasn't any scum game of yours that dannflor presented in contrast to your "typical town play" but i didnt think it was forced, i thought it still matched with the general Meta Enjoying ethos of his where he makes interesting observations about other games and comes up with ideas based on that. i also had this random thing where tris describing you "sinking" in her reads scumped me (obviously this is such a minor thing and could even just be me like concocting ridiculous 1 in a 100 chance scenarios) but it felt like a language softening choice in order to risk less of you being retalitory towards her after you calle dannflors read progression bad
wow it took me like 10 tries to remember how to spell the word fiery WHY is it spelled like that i was like FIREY? FIRY? WHAT IS HAPPENING . thats not why the post took long though.

i think it's sort of hard for me to see this as genuine
there's this notion in it of strength of a push and might makes right and it just feels like it's operating on a much lower level than i would expect from you as town
why does scum!dann make a weak push on you here? what's his motivation behind pivoting to you but without pushing as hard as you are? what's his motivation behind having a high confidence on the jupiter read?
it feels to me like scum who knows that they can just win a 1v1 as long as they push harder and let the other person stumble on their own uncertainty and lack of information. and it doesn't feel like you're thinking through things critically and trying to figure out his alignment

i have felt like tris is towny but i like this as an observation
