You're on your way to see your great-grandparents. You remember exactly where they live. You park on the street because the house doesn't have a driveway. It looks older and more dilapidated than you remember.

There is no doorbell. So you knock.

You unlock the door. It creaks horrendously as you open it.

You walk through the hallways toward the back of the house. Maybe they're in the kitchen. But they aren't. Why aren't they home?

The house is really cold. And the lights are all off. The light switches don't work.

You decide to go upstairs and check around.

At the top of the stairs you hear noises, maybe from a bedroom. You start checking rooms, and going up and down hallways. The house seems unfamiliar, but you're convinced this is exactly how you remember it from childhood.

Another hallway. And another.

You look back and everything looks unfamiliar now even though you just walked through it.

You try to trace your way back to the top of the stairs, but you go deeper and deeper into a multitude of rooms. In each room the decor is stranger than the last.

This has to be a dream.

You will yourself to wake up, but it doesn't work. You just keep wandering, lost, in this improbably huge house.

And you remember. Your great grandparents have been dead for a long time.
