I believe sly's claim as I think multiple millers fits with a game like this, in which we'll have tons of investigative roles going around. If there weren't something to balance it out (multiple false-guilties and false innocents) the roles would be too powerful.

I think that's why I'm prepared to give Sly the benefit of the doubt. The possibility of a second miller isn't what's bothering me. It's the way he claimed it that's a little sketchy. It doesn't sit well with me, but I'm willing to forgive it for the moment.

On reread it really does look like a guy contemplating a counterclaim and not sure how to proceed. It all looks legit to me.

We're sending them to say "no", right? If so, I'm "hammer"ing.

What are the choices for day actions? I don't recall them being discussed here.

if they both say no and are not interfered with, then they get choice of: cop/ doc/ or day-vig for the next day.

Vote: Plan 3

My main reason is that if we do succeed in sending at least 1 scum to prison, we minimize the risk of scum making a huge hole in plans with anything that interferes with prison. I've already posted what we should take from any deviation from the yes/100 choice from the two people we send due to scumminess.

If Lowell and SlySly are already in, then it's only between Plans 2 and 3.
I think that Empking's distribution of cop and vig is fine. We definitely want one of each out of this pair.

Just a reminder that the town really *should* nominate which player exactly chooses what.

None of freeko's libertarian crap.

That way we can vote and direct the investigations/dayvigs also and know exactly how many there will be.

It's no use giving them free reign to choose what they want, scum could just all choose vigs and misvig.

SlySly and Lowell have been sent to prison!

Prison Count resets. Up to 2 more pairs of players may be sent to prison for Day 1. The original deadline still stands.

Well, we can request to end the day and leave it at that, or we can try and analyze each other into the ground until the deadline, to little avail.

I think I support ending the day. The only people we can be sure about are the millers, and perhaps we can try and reason out what some of the roles are.

I was kind of thinking that. I think the possibility for error is too high and the rewards granted are too powerful. We can't be positive with anybody but the millers.

I'm gonna go right ahead and

Meh. I'd prefer an unofficial vote on this, at least, as I believe ortolan suggested. In theory I think you'd prefer to give those you trust more the daycop choice, and the ones you trust less the dayvig choice. Before that, in theory, we need a semi-official plan choice.

But I don't think anyone should be thinking about ending the day now. We have, what, over a month until deadline. We have plans that did not account for being broken halfway through execution. We have four more people we can send to prison today, and my current thinking is that the more pairs we send, the lower the pecentage of PD pairs that get messed with, in all likelyhood. What we need is more discussion. If nothing useful comes out of discussion in a week, I'll reconsider my stance on not ending the day yet. We made plans. One, which it appears the majority of the town do not support, advocates sending two scummy people to the PD. The other two, which have stronger support, advocate sending three pairs. I'd rather not give up on sending three pairs if possible. It seems that we're going with plan 3 or plan 2. Let's see that through, if possible/if minds don't change about it.

Why would you give people you trust less the ability to kill?

Though since the people who came up with the ideas are certainly going to see them through right?

Because giving the more suspicious the daycop investigations means more risk of scum lies getting through (and some lies won't be too easily found either - and the last thing we need is scum falsly confirming a buddy innocent). Vig kills are more open, don't risk misinformation, and it's lots clearer whether the player did what the town instructed.

As of now these two players have made the most sense in their posts. Making sense doesn't necessarily mean town, but they seem the safest. It's a lot harder picking out townies then it is to pick out scum, and I think finding six townies will be nearly impossible to do successfully, I'm not even confident on these picks, if we send another town pair after this I will pretty much be pulling names out of a hat. This is why plan 3 is better than plan 2.

Plan Votecount

(3)
Plan 1 - Albert, Goofball?, freeko?
(9.5)
Plan 2 - Percy, Empking, hp[leaves], Counselwolf, Plum, Narsis, RossWilliam, doctor no, Stephoscope, ortolan (.5),
(2.5)
Plan 3 - Kublai, zach, ortolan(.5)

(10)
No Planvotes: Seraphim, The Central Scrutinizer, Moratorium (no posts still), Tuberkulos (being replaced), detspeed (being replaced), Ectomancer, solorpg, Vel-Rahn Koon, Lowell, SlySly

It seems that most people are happy with sending the millers, which means we're probably not looking at plan 1. We've got 13 people willing to go for plan 2 or plan 3. With two (possibly three) people waiting for replacements, let's just get on with figuring out whether to send a scumpair and what powers to give them.

Which means sending:

Miller Pair
Town Pair
Third Pair - Scum or Town?

Now we start the new voting. Start voting the combinations, summarised again here:

Plan 2: Send the 6 towniest looking players to prison. Demand they both say "no". They then get
(A): 3 Investigates, 3 Daykills
(B): 4 Investigates, 2 Daykills
(C): 6 Investigates
(D): 6 Daykills
(E): 5 Investigates, 1 Daykill

Plan 3: Send 2 scummy and 4 towny looking players to prison. Scummy looking pair answer "yes", townie looking pairs say "no". Townies acquire
(A): 2 Investigates, 2 Daykills
(B): 3 Investigates, 1 Daykill
(C): 4 Investigates
(D): 4 Daykills

Personally, I'm down with
Plan 2B
.

Its been ages with no new votes. Unless we want to wait till deadline, I think its fair to say 2B won it.

People, if you think my role distribution is good, say so. If not, say something else.
