I can't believe so many of you are still accusing me of attacking someone who I declare as pro-town at the same time. Because that is both a great misunderstanding and at some level a huge insult.
Oh, and for God's sake stop mentioning the jester! There is no jester when you are scumhunting! I said it because of frustration, not as an actual argument!-

Litral, that argument keeps coming back because you have dug yourself into a hole where you have to both defend numberfourteen and defend yourself for attacking him. You've contradicted yourself so many times it's hard to believe anything you say. If you're not scum, you're a distraction of the highest order, and the town will be better off without you either way.---

Oops. Thought #200 was #201. That's what I get for posting on another forum where the topic starter is post #1 and not post #0.Vino wrote:This game is moving a lot faster than I am used to.

Yeah you're right but I can vouch for Koichi's relative trustworthiness.roflcopter wrote:

I appreciate the vote of confidence, Penguins.
I disagree with that comment being a scum tell. If Litral is town, he's a bad enough player to distract everyone who is currently voting for him. It's anti-town behavior. If we mis-lynch today, I would rather lynch a town player who causes chaos. Obviously my first instinct is that he's scum, and I would rather lynch him as scum. I would also rather NOT mis-lynch in the first place, if we get a better scum read somewhere else. I'm just saying that if we mis-lynch him, it's his fault for playing so poorly. If he's town, he owes it to the game to play better to avoid the mis-lynch. Him not seeming to care about that only cements the scum read further in my mind.---

I have seen Litral act scummy as town, but if I recall correctly, not this scummy. While GnKoichi's statement is not your standard everyday declaration of confindence of scumminess, I don't think what the latter said is very scummy if at all. The defense at #236 is very understandable.STRANGERCOUG: Stranger Than You!

Generally, if there is a jester in a large game, if you lynch him it dosn't hurt the town's chances of winning. The jester either wins or loses, but it has no effect on anyone else. So if there's a jester in the game, lynching him day 1 isn't really a bad thing anyway; it's not as good as lynching a scum, but much better then lynching town.Vino wrote:This is my first non-newbie game, so I didn't know jesters are uncommon. The game description said there may be one. I figure pointing it out might be helpful, because if we lynch a jester he wins.
What makes you think scum are especally unlikely to be sloppy? It was not very specific so I apologize. It was jestery in my opinion only because it was sloppy for scum play.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

...how is that worse then, say, lurking and not responding to pressure? Everyone should respond to pressure, that's the whole point OF pressure; if someone ignores pressure, I usually take that to mean they're scum hoping that something else will happen and people will forget about them.Litral wrote: rofl, which part of my vote do you suspect? The initial vote for Numberfourteen, or the latter insistence that it should stay? Because only the first part is voting someone for merely lurking - the second part is voting someone for both lurking and only responding to pressure.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Reading over Litral's game, this and the other jester drops are probably what caught my eye as the biggest scum tell, as they were completely out of left field. As far as the case against him goes though, gnkoichi's take on it seems fishy. It seems like it's mostly based on his vote on numberfourteen? In that case I think it's being taken to a somewhat unfair extreme, as like, the initial contradiction was imo adequately explained by Litral but it seems like it's being exploited for a relatively easy lynch. I'm not seeing a huge contradiction in his play, it looks like he's stuck to his guns as far as his vote goes. I don't like gnkoichi's latest posts because it looks like he's covering his ass in advance for lynching a townie.Litral wrote:... please, this is the second time in this game someone has depicted me as some sort of jester.
Rofl I'm iffy on, he's contributing and strikes me as a proactive townie, except for that he keeps asserting he's a townie, which always makes me vomit just a little bit.
I like lowell's play so far, and I think claiming mason so early was a protown move if he's pretty sure it's a mixed group.
My favorite lynch candidate at this point would probably be gnkoichi.
This reads like a brushoff to me, which worries me, and I guess a lot of the reason I'm so skeptical of koichi's case is that I've seen scum employ the "guys even if he's a townie he's not helping so let's lynch him" tactic with great success. I'm not ready to rule out that I'm missing something due to being unfamiliar with koichi's play, so this is tentative at best.Penguins of the Serengeti wrote:

Agreed. Lowell made the right decision.StrangerCoug wrote:I believe the mason claim at #215 for now, and I also don't believe that everybody in the mason group Lowell speaks of is likely to be town given its claimed size.
It's certain that at least one is scum. Minimum of one. Maybe even two.
This is not a conventional strategy, but perhaps we ought to consider lynching a mason today, or at least early in the game. Right now, randomly, we have a >16% chance of killing a scumbag if we lynch a mason. I doubt this scum mason is Lowell on account of the claim. I know I'm not a scum mason, but that's useless information for the rest of you. But from my vantage point, of the 4 remaining mason, there's a really good chance of hitting scum with >25% likelihood.
As I pointed out earlier, Yosarian, who I am officially outing as a member of the group (along with myself), who is generally a shy voter, started out by voting fellow mason group member Lowell, after which I accused him of not reading his PM, something he has failed to address.
I would consider lynching Yosarian.Penguins in the Serengeti and in the Ngorongoro Crater have been studied continuously since the 60's hoping the birds will lead us to their secretive prey, the sand cod.
