"Hereby an object called a Game shall be established. To put a Game into Nomic, it must be made a proposal along the lines of Propose: Add {Connect 4} as a Game, most likely substituting Connect 4 for another game, such as RoShamBo, So Long Sucker/F*** Your Buddy, etc. Rules and proposed variants, adaptations to a netgame setting MUST be posted to any game, in case discrepancies should arise as to who wins. Games must be finite, they must eventually end with a ""winner"" and a ""loser"", or may end in a ""draw"". Mod Juls reserve the right to override the rules and call her own winner/loser/tie for any reason she deems necessary (cheating, game taking too long to finish, game appears abandoned, etc)."

Games are instigated by players by saying in thread Instigating Game: {gamename}, where {gamename} is any accepted game into Nomic and players can join by saying Request to Join {playername}'s {gamename} Game. More players may join the Game, but once there are enough to start, the instigator of the Game may post Start Game: {gamename} with {playername}{playername}(etc.). Once Mod Juls approves the Start Game command, the game will play out by its prescribed rules with the listed players until a result is reached for all players.

"As a player instigates a game, they may state a buy-in fee for the game such as Wager: {100} $$$, replacing 100 with the desired amount. Wagers must be made in 1 $$$ increments. When a wager is declared, all joining players must be able to pay up the wager when the game is Started. If this is not possible, the player will be denied admission, and the Starter will be told to find someone else.
When the game starts, the specified wager will be deducted from all players' total balance. When the game ends, the ""winner""(s) will split the sum total of the wagers, unless the Game rules specify otherwise, and the ""loser""(s) will get nothing. "

These all seem too much like coorporations. And as I say before, I prefer to think of money as a points system, and not a currency/economy, such as the way monopoly or texas hold'em uses money. No banks, no investing.

No government stuff either... whats it for? whats it do? How does it complement the games system now in place?

Also, all these games are nice, but everyone needs some $$$ before we can play. That means we should also settle on a win condition.

Change your votes on P87 and P88 to Yes, then.

If you don't like those particular conditions, change them later. But at least then the game will have a win condition of some sort, and people will have an incentive to play. Make the challenge be changing the win condition, not the initial creation of one.

Lunar_Tick's rules are awesome. Curious as to what the purpose of the supreme ruler and minsters will be. Maybe I should propose a role for one of them.

I also like the yabbaguy games proposals. I'll say yes to them, (

) although I'll point out that there doesn't seem to be any limitations on how often players can play a game, so if you are giving the winner and loser both money, and we have a set money win condition, all two players have to do is play each other a thousand times or whatever and eventually someone will breach the win condition.

We might want to have a rule that prevents a player from playing a particular game more than X times per Y time period.

P102 is there because I anticipated that people may not be prepared to bet. I also think that there need to be an inflow of money/points (call it what you want) so that one person doesn't take it all then have complete control.

P102 doesn't overrule the betting system. If two players play a game and they bet 50$$$ the loser will still lose 45$$$. I also added this rule so that poorer players may have a chance to come back from bankruptcy if they aren't in a position to bet.

Thirdly, I don't want games to be governed by chance. Shouldn't we be rewarding skill over chance?

Agreed on the point of needing more money. Disagree on the point of barring luck games, this is just a start. I'm hoping to involve many other games as we go on.

A player can at any time challenge a player a player to Rock, Paper, Scissors. Each player has 24 hours to pm the mod three rounds worth of actions. If the challenger wins he gets all of the loser's Nomic Bucks. If its a draw or the challenged wins, the challanged gets all the money. If only one player sends in actions that player wins.
