This depends on the alignments of 2 or 3 loose cannons in the players list :p

Crazy wrote:Hmm, I agree, actually. If they were town, then you get an extra town-directed kill; if they were scum, then they would have done that anyway.
I am going on the assumption that the person being lynched is scum, because that is clearly our aim; in which case we should try to make sure (s)he does not get an opportunity to bomb anyone.

We cannot assume the person being lynched is a townie and he will bomb whoever the town wants him to bomb. If we do, then why are we lynching that person anyway?

Xyl wrote:If the person being lynched is scum, then it would be nice to stop them from bombing, but it's unlikely to work. Even if you commit to speedlynching anyone who gets to, say, L-3, scum will just bomb at L-4. And planning to speedlynch anyone who gets to L-3 is a bad plan in itself.
This is the biggest problem we face. In an ideal world, we would not want to give anyone a chance to bomb, but I have a feeling we wouldn't be able to replicate that here. But, what we can do, is agree that a townie should bomb someone (even when (s)he is being lynched) only if he is reasonably sure the person he is bombing is scum.
Xyl wrote:Add in the fact that, just on statistics, we'll probably lynch several townies before the first scum, and you can see that giving the lynched player a chance to bomb is a very good idea.
Xyl wrote:I always try to lynch the person I think is most likely to be scum, but I accept the fact that statistically, I will be wrong more often than not (especially day 1). If you can actually get a better than 50% success rate on day 1 lynches I'd love to know your secret.
And, statistically, the bombed targets are also more likely to be town. If you think that the town does not have a good chance of hitting scum on day 1, what makes you think that the person being lynched (if (s)he is town) has? Aren't we more likely to end up with 2 dead townies instead of having 1 townie and 1 scum dead?

Ok, does anyone think it would be likely that any cell contains more than one MI5 agents? (and please, don't end D2 early like D1)

Izzy wrote:No, because I don't think every cell would have an agent, based on the numbers in my cell.
Every cell has 3 members... this is public information anyway. It would be sort of impossible for each cell to have an MI5 agent, because that would mean 5 scum in a 15p game. That would be ridiculous.

Also, wondering, it says that MI5 may have infiltrated the cells. Do we take this to mean that they are actually inside the cells or are they just observing it? (that is, observing the quick topics)

Izzy wrote:Where exactly is this made public information? I note that the sample Role PM mentions two cell mates, and I happen to know my cell has 3 members, but I can't seem to find it stated anywhere in the roles. This is why I leave my statement open, because I don't discount the possibility of variable cell sizes. If I've msised something, tell me.
My cell has 3 members, and the public role PM says 3 too, so it's process of deduction. And, given that there are 15 people in total, unless someone or other is not in a cell (not likely), or a cell consists of 2 people only (again, not likely) it has to be 3 per cell. There's not much you can do with 15.
Izzy wrote:The choice of the word infiltrate seems to make the answer to this question entirely clear.
Yes, you are correct. QT also mentions that no one else is allowed in there.

Ok, lets try something different. Pariah, what do you think about Xyl's opinions on page 2?

Claus, do you think Xyl was correct when he said the person being lynched should always attempt to bomb someone?

You and Fritz have mutual feelings for Xyl? I never knew that.

Also, the kill on Xyl was one of the worst plays I have ever seen. Why the hell does any pro-town player try to end a day on page 2?

This game was a farce. The town was filled with too many dimwits who didn't have the maturity/aptitude to play this game.

Fair point Claus.

But, generally, they don't throw the game away for the town before the majority even have a chance to cast their vote.
