To a degree both. I was just giving an example of one way in which we could end up with balance issues.

You know something we don't about SKs in this game?
I know as much as any pawn knows, but it seem smost games here at mafiascum have serial killers, so unless I see otherwise, yea, I am assuming we have either a serial killer or a vigilante of some sort.

It IS Possible you ARE a serial killer so you know more then me though.

I really doubt that there is an SK in this game, as the format and concept don't seem to allow one. Though, of course, there always is a possibility, I doesn't seem wise to factor one into our discussions until we actually have a reason to believe that there could be one.

Plus this post by mod leads me to believe there will be more then the usual killing....regardless of whether there is a sk or not, we still should run up IS.

Well, BabyJesus does bug the crap out of me, especially when he gets overly defensive to just about everything. Doesn't mean he's scum, but I think I'd like to see him dead nonetheless.

One thing that
does
make me think he's scum is...

Seems like a premature claim to me, but it might also be because he's been bandwagoned so quickly. Uh, can we get a
vote count
please? We've ripped through five pages already and my head is spinning.

Of course, Dranko also raises an excellent point:

is

I'll admit I haven't played much with Coron, but...why does him being in this game warrant a lot of discussion? I could understand for IS, because his playing style tends to result in disoriented newbies. But Coron? I haven't seen anything to indicate that he's unreadable.

I believe that Coron is known as a IS post a like .. so to speak. Coron is like notorious to them as IS is to us, I think. Although IS isn't anyone more special to me as is anyone else. I may fear him at times though.

Coron says that IS is his Idol. I've only played with Coron once, and he didn't seem like he plays scummy.

Coron = moron, by his own List. He wants to post like IS but he's not quite as clever.

I'm with STD on BJ's sortaclaim. Having extra killing roles doesn't mean there's an SK, and even if you're a vig, there's a 50% chance you're not MY vig. Besides, a vigilante without information about who is on his team is just as rabid as an SK.

As far as mass claiming goes, I agree with Lt. Origen. Claiming roles would just let the scum hide among the pawns and pick off the power roles. Claiming colors shouldn't help or hurt either color on day one, but it gives more info to the mafia, and you can't expect everyone to tell the truth anyways.

It should be interesting once somebody gets close to lynch and they claim a color. Should players of the same color back off the bandwagon to protect their teammate, or is keeping color a secret more important?

And
FOS BabyJesus
for messing with quotes. I'd rather not bandwagon to a claim before five people have even posted, but quote-hacking is surely not cool.

Hmm, my last posted vote was for BabyJesus, and yet I am voting for IS in the votecount. I wonder if this means that BJ has some sort of vote manipulation he's not telling us about?

Let's see if this works:

Please explain to me this FOS..... I'm curious why you find what I did "suspicious" ..... Is it typical behavior here for mafia members to blatantly modify quotes to joke around??

Not much else to go on.

I thought about what you were saying Yaw-- If we lynch someone of a certain color, the mafia will start killing people of the other color. Wouldn't break the game.

I don't know, Pie. In RPS, which admittedly had a different mechanic, the first team to lose a member got targeted for the rest of the game, until they became kingmakers in the endgame. I think the mafia (there IS only one mafia, right? Not one Black mafia and one White mafia?) could go a lot of directions with color information, but the *town* will most likely target the color who is down in the standings. At least I would (and did, in RPS, before you take that as an admission of guilt).
