I'm trying to wrap my head around this game. There has been a crazy amount of posting since it started.
Nuwen wrote: MiteyMouse: it's all fun and games until someone shoots out a random vote pages after the RVS ceases. Then people get hurt. Allow me to guess - for the reactions/lulz, right?
It was meant to be a joke/cute being as Hero commented on me not voting yet.
Nuwen wrote: Or we could stick it to The Man (insert your being of choice here if not The Man) and kill him off. I like that idea. Intentionally provocative players irk me in a way that isn't alignment-oriented in the slightest.

I don't understand how your answer in 69 justifies the apparent contradiction because I don't understand your statement's alternate intent.
Seeing how people react to what I said.

I would approve your "let's all be friends together" proposal. Oh, and I messed up my initial post - By "age" I meant our scumage - how long we had been on MS. Ooops :-(

Anyway, your post 98 was more tangled than a kitten's wool ball (thanks for the links, though!). Who do you suspect right now, and why?
I suspect Red Dye, Albert B Rampage, and Mitey Mouse.

Red Dye because of [see above]. Albert B Rampage because I really don't feel like I have a good grasp on him yet everyone else is simply leaving him alone or giving him brownie townie points, and all I've seen him do is vote jump or say stuff like "what is going on." Also, Claus, can I be your friend so I can have brownie townie points?

Mitey Mouse because of a really late joke vote when we're not in the RVS anymore that looks like he doesn't want to put down any opinions to paper, and then he follows Nuwen/ABR and votes Rosso for being a mean penguin. Mean people aren't always scum, and it looks like in both of these fashions he is taking the easy way out.
VP Baltar wrote:Ok, wtf at le Chat's post in 98. He goes from nothing to comment on to mega post of crap I don't want to read and ultimately says very little.
le Chat wrote:I agree with your opinion that these 3 pages have been... bad(I guess I'll call it?). But I didn't like them because I felt it made it really, really hard for me to attribute opinions/posts to their specific username/avatar.
That's odd considering it was all of three pages and roughly four players. You also don't seem to have any problem keeping it straight in post 98 after several more players have joined the game.
I said there was nothing to comment on, and then Claus chided me for it and said that it is suspicious that I didn't even attempt to find points of discussion in all their posts. So I didn't want to look suspicious / be worthless, so I did attempt to comment and discuss them.

I don't really get the second comment. Another read helped me put sayings to faces/names.

I'm not sure what other direction you can take "How do you know I'm a townie" if not "only mafia have perfect alignment information". I suppose there are pro-town roles that know other players' alignment, but "How do you know I'm a townie" is rarely used for role-fishing. It is most often used as an implicit attack on somebody.

All that set aside, the point was that magnus
didn't
make this argument, which means that my appeal to his point of view was natural to him, which, to me, suggests that he's pro-town.

You present a hypothetical situation and then ask me what my read would be? Why are we talking about something that didn't happen, because the only other line of relevancy is Nuwen making that argument against Claus. Are you setting up a hypothetical situation so that you can then argue with me that no, "How do you know I'm a townie" is not pro-scum thinking, thus implicitly defending Nuwen?
first, you quoted me as ie chat, like internet explorer chatroom, when i am le chat, like a cat, like in your avatar, like in my avatar. though i guess my avatar could look like a chatroom too.

second, no sorry. i asked the question because if you had asked it to me i would have responded with the "how do you specifically know / can you assume im a townie unless you're mafia" but he didn't, and you said it was town of him, and i was wondering if you would have found my response scummy. that's the hypothetical. didn't mean to do anything with nuwen.

My play on Day 1 always stinks. I'm all but useless on Day 1...I know this and anyone that has played with me knows this. That is why I replace in after Day 1 in most games. I'm working on it bt, apparently I have a slow learning curve for Day 1...hehheeh! My vote for Hero was a joke and I'm not going to deny that. That being said, I'm not going to jump up and down and fight my lynch...the Town will gain information from it and my role is not all that important.

Oh and MiteyMouse is a she!

That's a terrible post, MM, for someone of ANY alignment. You've played in enough games that you should know full well that scuminess is sink or swim, and doing something to intentionally draw attention or behave in a visibly scummy way
will
get you lynched. Trying to plead personal meta will not trump the necessity of keeping the site meta squeaky clean: lynching players for behaving scummily is a fundamental component of mafia.

In response to the first part of this:

Absolutely, yes, terrific. If mafia werent about trickery on both sides, then why not just have the town massclaim at the beginning of every game? Would the town always win?

Nope.

The idea is to lay these kinds of traps in order to read peoples emotions. There are a few games where you can read someone based on the absolute outlandishness of their role, but these ouitlandish roles usually happen in large games, where a large amount of stupid power roles exist, diminishing the effect.

It works the exact same way with emotions, its just fine to say something and rescind it later. The art of mafia lies in the ability to read if these rescindments and propositions are in fact plausible, or if they probably point to scum behavior.

I could write a treatise on this, but it ought to wait till after the game.
