The only two things I care about right now are that DiamondCrash doesn't self-hammer if he is town and that nobody else objects to a hammer at this point.

Sorry, busy weekend, so I've got a bit to catch up on. I took a look at the claim etc, and I have no major issues with anyone hammering DC. The saying "doc" instead of "cop" issue is much bigger for me than the "I claim..." issue, but yeah, not really believable.

The only objection I would have to not hammering right now is to wait for Sidekick's replacement, just to squeeze as much info as possible out of the lynch. Really though, I can't see anything all that useful/readable coming out of that.

So, yeah, green light from me.
Yes, my fake claim is Innocent Aligned with the Town win condition as per the mod's first post.

Yeah okay that claim is incredibly unbelievable. For one thing most roleblockers I've seen have been scum, but also: like Macavity said, why would he have named SC as a Cop previously if he was worried about blocking him as a Doctor? That's not a contradiction that can be handwaved away by being a newbie, that's something that is iffy no matter what one's experience level is. I wouldn't really have objected to a hammer before but I definitely don't object now.
Ophanim wrote:Page 3 is

early, at all. Furthermore, he had just put someone at -1; the general procedure is to ask for a claim, correct? In fact, I would ask a claim of DC for as long as he is at -1. The speed with which his wagon formed is a standard town reaction to his post, and my only regret over it was that I was not around to see it to its totality.
- The Page 3-being-early-or-not is something we're going to have to agree to disagree on because I absolutely do think that it is too early to be putting people at L-1 and asking for claims.
- The speed with which a wagon forms is always a concern, and his went from zero to hero in less than a page (IIRC).
Ophanim wrote:I like how you don't give any real reactions. I don't care one lick about Sidekick. I care solely about getting DC deaded as quickly as humanly possible.
Lynches on a single-day basis are a zero sum game. Everyone is defending people to a degree by stating that a certain player is "the scummiest and needs to die" because that would imply that they would
not
want someone else to be lynched. That's not worded at all well but you hopefully see what I mean.

I don't see anything necessarily scummy about the "I claim" thing but DC's BS about outing the doc/cop/whatever because he didn't want to Town Roleblock him is the strongest evidence against him yet. However, I would still prefer Sidekick/replacement to weigh in before we almost certainly hammer DC into oblivion.

It was not long before the Bawlmer natives noticed that DiamondCrash was speaking with an accent.

"What? I am just getting over a cold. Really!"

Before he could show the town the prescription he had been taking, he finds his neck in a noose.

"Any last words, DiamondCrash?"
"Yeah. I really am just getting over the flu. Really!"

*creak*
*snap*

Once DiamondCrash's body stops swinging, papers start to fall out of his jacket pocket. Upon closer inspection, an ID card reading "Member of your local Mafia since '05" is found.

DiamondCrash (
Goon
) was lynched.

Falling asleep, the citizens of Bawlmer hear a loud thunderclap and remember hearing on the news that there was a chance for a thunderstorm over night. They vaguely remember thinking how odd it was for there to be only one clap, but dismiss it on account of how tired they were from the day's event.

Waking up the next morning, a few people walk outside to retrieve their copy of The Baltimore Sun and feel a warm breeze blowing down...........

Oh wait, that is just Ythan replacing in.
Anyways.

On the front page of the paper reads the headline,
"Car Bomb Explodes Overnight, Wrecking Entire Block."

Upon further reading, you find out that Ophanim was in the car. Apparently, he was on his way home from The Hustler when his car suddenly exploded. After a thourough search, crime scene investigators can only find a few pieces of his body left.

Ophanim (
Vanilla Townie
) was blown up.

Hey, Ythan, welcome to the game!

To start us out for the day, I'd like to look at two suspects: Apayah and Chevre. Apayah seemed to be eager for a Dramonic lynch and was rather lukewarm about a DC lynch, although she did give nominal support to the wagon. Chevre came out strong against DC in an early post, but never mentioned it again. Both seem like scummy attempts to be on a wagon against scum without pushing it too hard on the off-chance that it might not lead to a lynch.

Oh, and I'd suspect Sidekick, but I want to see what Ythan does with the player slot first.

I've cooled on Sidekick because as I see it most of the suspicion on him was based on putting DC at L-1 so fast and I don't see scum doing that to a partner all things considering. Is there something else on the Sidekick case that I forgot about?

Now that we have a DiamondCrash flip, Cyberbob is very suspicious for his interactions with him. I'd like to hear his thoughts.

Xvart - I remember having some issues with his posts, but I can't seem to remember what they were. I guess it was just the inactivity combined with the lack of content. But, like I said, I want to see what Ythan does with the slot.

Suspects:

Sidekick/Ythan - Yeah, DC's flip makes him look a little better but not enough to explain away his needless vote on DC.

Cyberbob - Came down hard on DC immediately after his "outing" but didn't take much to be convinced otherwise.

xvart - Called DC failtown in 1 post, ready to hammer in the next.

Not really sure how to defend myself against this one except to point out that being wrong does not always imply anything other than simply being wrong.

I believed DC's newbie thing primarily because I know what I was like when I had his amount of experience (though I did start playing on a forum where the quality of play was considerably lower); sometimes newbies just want to feel like they're doing some hardhitting analysis and don't stop to think about whether or not that analysis might be a good idea. I still wouldn't be at all surprised to find out after the game that that is in fact what happened, even with him having been scum.

His claim was an altogether different story, of course. That was classic newbscum (you could argue that the role thing was as well but my gut still tells me that it was just plain old newbie play).

--------------------------------

I'm still suspicious of Sidekick/Ythan but I'm going to a) see how Ythan answers the points against him and b) go back and read DC's thoughts on people.

I think I can wrap my head around how Cyberbob thought DiamondCrash was newbscum.

The other big suspect I remember having is dead also, so I'm on nothing but hearsay right now. If anything, I'm not fond of Sidekick's activity either, but I'm not going to vote Ythan right now. I don't remember seeing Apayah often either.

Hmm, I don't remember this. In fact, I think I've stated somewhere near the beginning of the game that I trusted his miller claim.
is there something else on the Sidekick case that I forgot about?

You forgot that she may be bussing DC, a lot of people is suspecting DC at the time.

Cyberbob - His argument makes sense, before the claim to me DC was leaning failtown.
