And I can teach you how to hold up a convenience store, if cash is the issue. One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.-

Which one, exactly? The one that indicates I may attempt drinking heavily at Scumstorm, or the one that indicates that I may attempt to blow Ythill?SocioPath wrote:Sudo's thread is misplaced. One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. Just FYI.
My bosses are going white water rafting this weekend for his birthday.
So I can join in only the afternoon/evening portions of Saturday + Sunday. With Later evening for Friday.
Also, I have 6+ canvas camp style chairs and one canvas cot which can be used for a bench and/or bed if you want.Hi.-

It is now. I have taken the thread over, by virtue of my amazing countenance. Guys, Part 2 exists to service me; and all other threads will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.SocioPath wrote:

Thanks Miyu, I'll let you know if we need them. Xine found some chairs at her work and I'm waiting back for the word whether we can borrow them.

If either of them are going to skool, it could be compared to a skool expense.Ythill wrote:RC and al have officially backed out of coming to hang out with us. We should belittle them vehemently, or something.
And the debt they go into for a weekend isn't bank busting.
And social networking is just as, in not more in some cases, important as a silly degree.
The cost ratio of skool versus meet up, means they are actually wasting more money long term by NOT going.
But when they live their lives to the end, they'll look back think to themselves, "I'm glad I saved that X amount of dollars by not going to a meet up dedicated to one of my favorite sites to visit online. I feel fulfilled."Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

Then sack up and show up. You will regret it if you dont.
The worst memories I have in life are the ones where I didnt do something for whatever reason. I would gladly trade in a couple hundred bucks to get a chance to redo those experiences.
And dont forget about the dancing girls.ShowElvis_Knits: "IS you are a sexist schmuck, for real"

RC, I already sent you busking tips. The other option is hitchhiking. If you stay on I-5, there is no reason it should take you longer than two days to get here (probably it will only take 1) and it'sfree.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

Troll really be pretty unsure how ReaperCharlie plans to day kill Troll if him no be there (maybe him just be that good a shot?) Troll also no thought that a pirate would let something like gas money stop him from doing what him wanted.
Just goes to show how much Troll no knows.
Actually in terms of serious advice, Troll no knows how much gas would be but Troll wonders if bus tickets might be competitive price-wise. Perhaps Troll be more willing to use non-driving means of transportation that most but the busses be fairly cheap and pretty reliable last time Troll checked.

Ah. See... I misread your "serious advice" qualifier.
Here is all of the work involved in hitchhiking: carrying a backpack, holding your thumb in a visible position, carrying on an interesting conversation, andmaybedoing some driving. So, yes, more work than sitting in a bus, but not by much. Also, the Cali-Portland I-5 corridor is the easiest hitch in the country. By far.
But yeah, I suppose bus tickets would work as well. Too bad the Green Tortise isn't running anymore. It was a SF-Portland express (101->26) owned and operated by hippies. Basically a party on wheels with cheap ticket prices.Record:Town 10W/15LScum 4W/1LOther 2W/2LNewbie 1L

@Ythill, yeah, Troll meant serious compared to the rest of Troll's post. It no was clear. Actually, it be the carrying on the conversation that Troll had in mind as being the most work; Troll really doesn't enjoy conversations with random people but Troll would feel obligated to do so in a hitchhiking situation if the person who picked Troll up seemed to want it. Troll probably comes across as somewhat friendly at times on these forums but it be mostly a facade.
Troll knew of the Green Tortise though Troll never took it. Troll be sad to hear that it be defunct at this point.
