Because you went on a tangent about scum buddies and other nonsense that I wasn't accusing you of. I was attacking your logic, not your actions. You realize this, right?"How very Rambo-esque of you." - Bazz

Well, maybe I'm confused but, the 'tangent' I went on was directly refuting your case. You mentioned how my actions were inductive of scum buddying with a scumbuddy. You used slaxx and I as your example. I then explained how Slaxx and I couldn't be scumbuddies. I'm sorry if I didn't word it how you'd like. However, you are misleading the situationagain.I haven't ignored any of your points, and if I have then it shouldn't be too difficult for you to specify what they are. Stop speaking in generalities, you're trying to make me sound scummy without providing any actual context.
It's 4:30 AM here, I'm going to bed. Will reply more tomorrow.-

The only reason I responded to your explanation was to show you how it was wrong. I don't care who your buddy is, that's not why I'm voting you. Here, I'll quote myself again.
I should note that 'that' argument includes WIFOM arguments.el simo wrote:I am voting you for based on my experience with scum and this argument. The rest of you what rambled on about has nothing to do with me and is just more WIFOM."How very Rambo-esque of you." - Bazz

Hmm, I am now awake and there are 50 more posts, this could take a while..
Retro:
For such a absolute statement about the number of mafia, this is a less than absolute back peddle. As Ice points outRetro wrote:I made the assumption that there would be three. Our last game, ICE, there were two mafia with nine players so I assumed the extra three players their would be another mafia. Am I wrong? I feel like the game would be a bit unbalanced given the fact that no one knows each other's roles with four mafia.
.ICE wrote:Had you said something to the effect of there always being 3 scum in a 12 player game at EM, I definitely would have bought that. However, your earlier statement just seemed too absolute, as I pointed out in your wording, to be written off as a guess.
Retro also tries to justify his behaviour is one of the most unconvincing ways possible, saying that he is not scum.
and then, an equally unconvincing anecdote about there being scum everywhere to try to defend himself. The logic "I am not scum because of one action" does not make sense.Retro wrote:You're wrong on it being a scumslip because I'm not scum.
I agree with the analysis that El Simo made about your post but I think the analysis is not about the correct point. El Simo, you seem to be confused with the nature of the argument I was making against Slaxx. I tried to make the point that he was buddying up to Retro and that this meant that either Slaxx was scum trying to gain a town allie or a null tell. I did not suggest that they were both scum. Here we are left with two very contradictory positions, Retro is looking very scummy with his defence but then from the original set, Retro should be town and Slaxx scum.Retro wrote:You guys need to look at the big picture not every minute detail. I learned this the hard way because I tore someone's ISO apart looking for a way to convince town to vote him, and I had a very persuasive case even though he was town. >.>

Benmage, for a very experienced player is playing a very dumb game, making only two posts both with bizarre statements or questions. The first
Someone with as much experience does not need to ask this question to know the point of alt accounts.Benmage wrote:el simo who is your alt..or main?
and again, he is taking us for fools, stating he is the best player here to draw out reactions and question his ability when he has made over 4k posts. Benmage is not all he seems..Benmage wrote:and looking at this playerbase I am without a doubt the best present player.

Im really sorry. I tend to post a good deal more than I am now, but I have some RL issues that should be resolved in the next few days, a week @ max.The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.
Scum who smiles when scum is lynched just led the wagon.

Yes they can, but really, do you expect scum to lead a BW on their own scum? I mean, from the VERY first vote on them? And that picked up FAST. 3 or 4 votes sure, but do you realize what the people voting for Sweep were doing? They just voted and latched on to Ice.diddin wrote:
Oh my god this so much. Scum can and will do whatever the fuck they want.el simo wrote:

But Ice voted for Sweep OUT of RVS. He used a case on Sweep based on RVS votes really. That's kind of, you know, STUPID at best.Retrospective wrote:@TheLonging; RVS's are generally meaningless. Mafia will gladly vote their partner because their partner is in no real danger. Clearing someone because they were bandwagoned first is terrible. Same can be said for who followed first.
el simo: You're arguing that all or most scum would stay low, be stupid, and lurk/not do anything useful while the rest of town argues with each other.

TheLonging, you're wayyyy too black and white about this. As I previously stated, the first RVS bandwagon hardly ever goes to completion so what do scum have to fear by hopping on a scumbuddies bandwagon if they are pretty sure it won't go to completion? And for that matter why should a townie care if he/she is confident the wagon will not go to completion? It is afterall the first bandwagon of the game.-

Honestly? Yes. There's no negative repercussions of voting your partner in a RVS. RVS is just that, random. Players do whatever they want because it doesn't generally matter and almost all of it is dismissed because it's sole useless. (This would be the reason I don't participate) Sure, once in a great while someting from an RVS can be useful but should never be the only reason why you're clear or suspect someone.TheLonging wrote:Yes they can, but really, do you expect scum to lead a BW on their own scum? OK retro and people you don't understand me.
When I saw scum lead a BW on their own scum, I was referring to Ice/Sweep, OUT OF RVS.
And I do realize, because he realized how crap his case was.Show0-1 at MS.net (0-0 offsite)Town:

Again, I meant ICE making a case on Sweep. Do you call that a RVS BW? Hell no. He made a case on Sweep based on HIS RVS votes.Slaxx wrote:TheLonging, you're wayyyy too black and white about this. Slaxx: This is from my prior experience playing on here and on several off-site games. I'm pretty sure in this. So the only way I could possibly think Sweep is scum barring any investigative reports is if ICE somehow got EXTREMELY lucky catching scum based on their RVS votes. And if you're going to defend Ice based on his meta, don't.Show0-1 at MS.net (0-0 offsite)Town:

Wow, I was gone for a day and 2 more pages appeared.
The critiques against TheLonging seem to have originated from some opinions TL said about scums. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think this is a case worth arguing for pages and pages for. An opinion is an opinion. You can't honestly expect to try to argue your way into changing another player's mentality.
AlsoUnvote.
RVS is coming to more-or-less an end.Helloran Elleran-

I agree. Bandwagoning in RVS does not give any tells, unless some members are eager to lynch someone for no reason.Slaxx wrote:TheLonging, you're wayyyy too black and white about this. Politics, the economy? What more do you want me to say?
Bandwagons in RVS are not tells.
I think Retro is suspicious not because necessarily because of his absolute -> fuzzy (Although it is part of it) but also because of his explanation and defence being so weak.
Benmage is trying to play us.
The case against me was utter crap by ICE and must have been a gambit to draw out some scum looking for a bandwagon.
I have thought more than most players in this game already.-
