I don't necessarily agree since I'm not, you know, nomming myself. It was a good claim that essentially got us to the endgame. I mean, I get what you're saying, but in the strictest sense of the word it's not true.hascow wrote:This, IMO, really toes the line of a self-nom, because even if you weren't the one who made it, you were, if that makes sense.YOUR AD HERE

I was in a hydra with MacavityLock this game and he basically singlehandedly saved us from a lynch because he whipped together a masterful claim in a matter of hours. We were scum and he came up with the claim after we were tracked to a dead body. It had just the right mix of flavor and involvement of living townies to WIFOM us out of the lynch and survive the rest of the game for a split scum victory. We were the last scum alive for our team on Day 4 when the claim happened and we survived to victory on Night 8. Probably one of the best claims I've seen in my time on the site.Second.Third
I would nom him for best single scum player, but there appears to be no such award. He certainly deserves something for this though...-

This, IMO,reallytoes the line of a self-nom, because even if you weren't the one who made it, you were, if that makes sense.
But anyway, nominate forBest Flavor TextandMost Enjoyable Game. The flavor was fantastic, felt to me just like reading the books. And I think the vast majority of players enjoyed the game, even with the win condition hiccup at the end and some VI'ing by certain players.n-thing all of theseStars Aligned III continues!-

Nominate New Award: Best Hydra Performance
Hydras are becoming increasingly popular on the site. While not everyone particularly enjoys them and some players even despise them, I think it takes a certain skill set to actually play well in a hydra and good hydra play deserves to be rewarded. Not only does this help recognize players who do well, but it will help demonstrate to newer players how a hydra should properly exist in a game (ie, not schizo).Second.I think this would actually be a really great idea.
It'd increase the mainstream appeal of hydra-ing, and would promote more teamwork and less individualism.
It'd also make for some great reminiscence, after the fact.Show"Take me to Pleasure Town!" "Look, the most Glorious Rainbow Ever!" "Do me on it!" -

Guys, stop referencing A Clash of Kings Mafia all over this site. That means more people will read that game. It does not exist, I tell you. IT DOES NOT EXIST! *crawls under a rock*
But in all seriousness, I'm also nthing this:

Nominating the town (esp. Parama, Charter, and Kagelord) of Mini 1063 - Pointlessville for Best Performance Pro-Town Team.
Parama and Charter caught pretty much every scum in the game, and KageLord helped even more by shooting correctly N0. We almost ended up lynching Parama after Charter got killed (mostly my fault), but we lynched cruelty anyways and won the game. Overall, excellent performance.Interested in doing a Dept. Nominate MagnaofIllusion for Best Third Party Performance in Personal Agenda Mafia
He won as jester which wasn't an easy thing to accomplish. The game advert in the signup thread and the OP of the game mentioned the possibility of jester... no one even suggested Magna might be that jester. The nature of the setup meant that 7/12 players in the game had a specific target that they had to outlive in order to win (one of these was a mafia usurper), none of them had Magna as a target which meant that he had to overcome people's mod defined agenda to lynch people other than him. He was forbidden from self voting which meant that he had to get an entire majority of votes to win the game.
Most jesters I've seen go out and try to be as scummy as they can from the get go and hope no one thinks of the possibility. Magna didn't, he played the role very cleverly. Day 1 he took control over the town and gained the trust of the majority of players in the game - he even managed to get himself doc protected on night 1. On day two he betrayed that trust in the worst way possible by claiming an investigative role and naming someone he was pretty certain was town as scum resulting in that player's lynch. On Day 3 he ranted about being insane in a terrible attempt to defend himself while the town summarily lynched him. All in all, very good play, I thought."I can't not give mad props to the murderbot 9000 that was q21." - Spyrex, after Scummies Invitational 2010.
You know those times when you wish you could think of something really funny or interesting to say, but just can't?... Yep, this is one of those times.-

Inominate petroleumjelly for Best Replacementnow in 2 games of mine (a Large Normal and mini 1013 - as Confucius) he played to an outstanding level when he replaced in and raised the posting in both games. He did a superfast reread and delved in which helped immensely particularly in the slightly slow large normal.Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.-

Thirded. Just took a quick glance through, and that might be the most ingenious Jester I've ever seen.gandalf5166 wrote:Jester is the easiest role to win with ever created. That said, I do think MoI did an incredible job. The way he goaded me onto the wagon was quite interesting.
