I'm scared to queue a randadungeon as tank on my DK because I know I'm gonna suck. <_<
DPS isn't too bad as an Ass Rogue though. Set up poisons, Mutilate -> Slice and Dice -> Rupture/Envenom -> Envenom/Rupture -> Backstab at 35% HP or lower. Maybe throw in an Expose Armor or something if it's a huge HP boss or something. If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

We tanks just lie about how hard tanking is so we can keep our insta-queues. Really tanking isn't very tricky, it's just hitting everything so you stay highest on threat and knowing how to gear reasonably well so you don't get smashed.
Later on you might need to arbitrarily pick some CC targets for the DPS to take care of."Faust complained about having two souls in his breast, but I harbor a whole crowd of them and they quarrel. It is like being in a republic." ~Otto von Bismarck-

So what's the basic DK Blood rotation at Lv58 for tanking? I'm assuming run in, Plague Strike -> Pestilence (if multiple targets) -> Blood Boil -> Death/Heart Strike? Or if diseases aren't necessary, I can just run in and Blood Boil -> Death/Heart Strike, repeat as necessary. Completely clueless here.
Or should I PvE/DPS till higher levels and better abilities? If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

Shamans are cool, I guess. Haven't played one, but they seem useful. I'm a fucking tard.
I've been playing my warrior since I started last April. I'm dual specced in Arms/Prot. ShieldSlamis a core of the Protection Warrior tanking rotation. ShieldBashis a nice little quick fix move to interrupt a caster, and with 2 points in gag order, silence them for a few seconds. I just discovered Shield Slam yesterday while I was redoing my bars, since I redid my entire interface. (Bartender is pretty legit, btw) Needless to say, things are quite a bit easier now.
As for tanking - I've only done warrior tanking thus far. It's a bit difficult, but once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy.
Trash:
If you're going to be doing any amount of AoE tanking, for the love of god, put both points in Blood and Thunder. It's a tier 1 protection talent, and if you apply rend to a target, and pop a TC, it'll spread the rend to every target in the range of TC, and rend's ticker is renewed with every TC.
Charge - Rend - Thunderclap - Shockwave to start. Transition into a rotation of TC - Shockwave - Revenge (when it's up) - Shield Slam - and Cleave if you're over 50 rage. If you maintain that, holding threat down shouldn't be an issue.
Bosses:
Start with Heroic Throw - Charge - Rend - Shield Slam. I personally like to get my 3 stacks of Sunders up before I hit anything else, to help the DPS output right off the bat. Once the fight gets rolling, I roll with Shield Slam - Revenge (on proc) - Devastate - Heroic Strike if over 50 rage. I throw down TCs as often as possible, and Devastate as often as possible as well. Keep Shield Bash nearby if you're against a caster boss. Make sure Rend is up, and it can be moved into the rotation if it's down, but TCs should keep it up fairly nicely. I like to try and keep my berserker rage up as well as Demo/Commanding shouts.
Your cooldowns are Shield Block, Shield Wall, Last Stand and Enraged Regeneration.
I use Shield Block more as a bit of a threat boost, as it ups the proc time for Revenge for that stretch of time, giving me guaranteed Revenges.
I keep Intervene and Intercept on one of my bars, part-mobility part-oh-shit buttons. Heroic Leap is a cool new trick, but not sure how it plays in yet. I enjoy it in Arms too lol.
Inner Rage I don't use much in tanking, might want to.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

Oh, and try and keep Spell Reflect up pretty often in caster situations. Healers love that.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

I would recommend a Hunter, Mage or Rogue as a first class. But play whatever you think is interesting. There's really no "worst class" out there as long as you know what you're doing (or are at least trying to learn <_<).ShowIIII LOOOOOVE YOOOUUU JESUUUUUUUS CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST

Whoever this person is above me, I want to kiss you for having such an amazing account name/avatar.
Mage or Rogue are probably the easiest starting classes. Mage is straightforward CAST SPELLS PEW PEW PEW and Rogue is straight forward GET UP IN HIS FACE AND HIT HIM WITH FAST AND AWESOME MOVES/SNEAK UP BEHIND HIM IN THE SHADOWS AND BACKSTAB HIM.
Hunter... I don't like Hunters, because pet management can get really fucking obnoxious. "Oh, I'm sad, you fed me prime rib instead of a goddamn apple! Oh, now I'm angry and doing 75% less damage because you haven't let me kill anything in a long time." Fuck off, you fucking twat.green shirt thursdays-

That's my hydra, created for myself and Fugitive (friend of mine, big NMH fan). I forgot to switch accounts. <_<xRECKONERx wrote:Whoever this person is above me, I want to kiss you for having such an amazing account name/avatar.
Also, Warrior/Paladin might be a good starting class.
Got to 58 on my DK. Almost 59. I really don't wanna level two characters through Outland, so I might just instance my DK through 60-70. Leveling up Mining and Herbalism from 0 sure is fun, though.
At least I've made a few hundred gold in the process. Wish I could get Goldthorn though - haven't checked LB's prices, but it sells for 60g per 5 over on Skullcrusher. Not a bad herb to farm.
Haven't been able to play much with work (Wed night, Thurs night, Fri night, Saturday double shift, tomorrow double), but I should have off from Monday until Friday night. Gonna spend at least one of those days grinding WoW stuffs.
Lastly, and this is probably old, but this video shows why Rogues are awesome. If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

AGar, keep shield block on cooldown.
The big thing about Warrior tanking is that you ARE damage mitigation. My Tankadin gets spanked and chewed for health but can keep threat easy as pie, my warrior tank fights to keep 3-4 trashites (think something like Vortex Pinnacle Trash), but the healer hardly drops mana.
In other news, starting to move into healadin as a secondary playstyle, but need to gear up for tankadin first. It's unfortunate that good oral sex excuses bad chemistry. - Korts-

Yeah warrior tanks got buffed pretty hard for cata, and I have two toons right now. Both on darkspear. I have a level 84 blood elf Holy pally (Courageous), and a level 83 Tauren Warrior (Conebread). I raided a lot during wrath, and apparently both of my classes and specs are pretty good right now. If alot of people from here all wanted to level on the same server, I would also most definitely be up for that. I've always wanted to try shaman healing, but I kinda need friends to level with (a tank so we can faceroll queues)
Edit-HOLY SHIT, I have a level 30ish pally on lightnings blade. He's ret right now, but I'd totally take him holy and level/queue with you guys. I like holy anyway. I could also tank since I'm used to that on my warrior. Or I could roll a different class entirely lol.

I swear, I'm gonna get the game, eventually. I just need to get some financial issues sorted out.
I'm thinking of being a mage, next. Any advice? One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.-

More specific in what regard??
Grind? Process of leveling which is boring as hell.
Warlock or priest? Magic users who use the dark arts and have pets and a healer that can also be a crazy ass DD (warlock and priest respectively)FlayTheScum 1:33 am

Mages are what are referred to as "Squishies". They die fast. They generally have cranked DPS output to compensate, but yeah.Sudo_Nym wrote:

Warlocks are clothies, but they can summon imps, succubuses, felhounds, and fel guard (among others I think - I never have leveled a lock) and if you level in the right spec for it, fel guard are basically walking tank pets.
Priests have heals so can spam self-heals in between DPSing for leveling, so they have that benefit.
Mages just hit hard, but if you don't kill, you die.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!
