I looted a nice BoE dagger ("of the Bandit", too!) off something in a dungeon and it didn't go into my bag even though I had room. ;_;
On a better note, I did get these. I just need the full set now...
[Edit] Got to 68 on the Rogue. All I have left to do in Outland is grind some dungeons for my gear set I want (optional) and play through one certain dungeon for my Elixir Mastery quest, and I'm heading out to Northrend.
DK is leveling Herbalism for a bit and running Outland dungeons.
Shaman is... leveling. *shrug*If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

I have decided to succumb to peer pressure and look at joining you guys (prior lack of wow experience aside from 10 day trials aside) as soon as I can swing the money; anything I should know before I jump head-first into the icy, shark-infested waters of MMOland, and do you guys mind having a complete WoW newb along with you for whatever-it-may-be? Also, would my lack of (until late March, assuming I stay hooked) WoTLK and Cata cause problems for you guys?-

not at all and not at all Jdodge =D
of course lack of WoTLK and Cata means you cant run heroics with us once we get there, but that's prolly farther than late march anyways.I'm a hoot

Just make sure you play on LB... and uhh take up Mining and Herbalism - I need someone to get me flowers and rocks >.>
Seriously take 2 gathering professions to start though, good money in it, then switch to a crafting one later, and don't do what I did and switch to two crafting ones... now I'm at the mercy of AH prices >.>FlayTheScum 1:33 am

Pally's are insanely good at tanking in earlier levels. But then high level supposedly the tanks are pretty balanced with their various pros and cons.InflatablePie wrote:Well, pops, I like doing healing and DPS, so Shaman works. I random'd two dungeons under healer and didn't do too bad either.
First one had a Druid tank, who died twice right out of the gate. After that, though, it was smooth sailing. Second dungeon had a Pally, whom I barely even needed to heal or cast a buff on. I was pretty much totem support + DPS the entire dungeon.
From what I've read, DKs and Paladins are the easiest tanks to heal, or a Warrior if they're played very well. Druids seem most annoying to heal."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"-

Remember to pick Lightning's Blade as your server and Horde as your faction, and you're good to go from there. Pick whatever race/class that appeals to you.TwoHeadedBoy wrote:It's dangerous to go alone. Take this.
As for your professions:
Mining is best paired with Blacksmithing, Engineering, or Jewelcrafting.
Skinning is best paired with Leatherworking.
Herbalism is best paired with Alchemy or Inscription.
Tailoring is best paired with Enchanting.
Or, you can pick two of Mining/Herbalism/Skinning, sell your products on the Auction House for money, and switch one of them to a crafting profession later on.
Tailoring is technically a crafting profession, but it mostly runs off of cloth that drops from enemies, so it's alright to pick this and Enchanting. Enchanting is leveled up by gathering items from destroyed "green"-leveled or higher weapons/armors and can make a lot of money later on. It might be a bit of a pain to level, especially if you pick something other than Tailoring with it.
tl;dr: My suggestions: pick Mining + [Skinning/Herbalism] or [Blacksmithing/Engineering/Jewelcrafting]. Or whatever you want, really. If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

We don't have any warriors AFAIK, and I think our druid/shaman are also pretty low leveled. I'd need to check hunter, since ours basically doesn't really play anymore (friend from RL)I'm a hoot

First off, holy shit JDodge is gonna play WoW.JDodge wrote:I have decided to succumb to peer pressure and look at joining you guys (prior lack of wow experience aside from 10 day trials aside) as soon as I can swing the money; anything I should know before I jump head-first into the icy, shark-infested waters of MMOland, and do you guys mind having a complete WoW newb along with you for whatever-it-may-be? Second off, no, there's not much you NEED to know. Pick a class that suits your preferred playstyle best. Figure out if you want to play a class with heavy armor, medium armor, or light armor. Plate > mail > leather > cloth. I've never actually played a plate class before, but I know that shit gets expensive to repair.
Third off, all your lack of WoTLK does is make you unable to create a Death Knight or visit Northrend. I think. Oh yeah, and it raises the level cap to 80. Cataclysm allows you to create Goblins and Worgens, allows you to fly in Azeroth once you hit level 60, and raises the level cap to 85.
You'll be good just leveling vanilla WoW (which is actually a billion times more fun than the Burning Crusade/Wrath of the Lich King zones now, thanks to the Cata redesign) for awhile until you can pick up the expansions. When you do get the expansions, I'd recommend trying to find a combo pack that contains all three, you'll probably get it for way cheaper.green shirt thursdays-

I could make a hunter if we need one, it sounds interesting. I don't think I'd make a good tank, though, so warrior is probably out. I'd probably prefer to play a DPS class, so whatever we need on that I'm willing to go for.dram wrote:We don't have any warriors AFAIK, and I think our druid/shaman are also pretty low leveled. Warriors can DPS too, not just tank. DPS warriors are dual wielders IIRC.
Hunters are pretty bad in endgame right now, a lot of people stopped playing their Hunters due to a bunch of stuff Blizzard fucked up in Cata, but the vast majority of that is being fixed in 4.0.6, which is coming out in the next couple of weeks, so you should be good.
I find it stressful to have to manage my pet AND my toon, but some people like having the extra firepower. Or, if you prefer, you can get a pet that's a tank (like a bear or crab) and you will hardly ever get touched while solo questing.green shirt thursdays-

The funny thing is, in my spec as unholy DK, my PET actually does more damage than I do >.>xRECKONERx wrote:Warriors can DPS too, not just tank. DPS warriors are dual wielders IIRC.

tbh my warrior is prot (the tanking tree) and I never looked back. She's lvl 64 right now and her dps is as high as anyone else's, plus she never dies when questing. Fury warriors (the main dps tree) were really hot in WotLK but its too early to see if they'll be as good in Cata.
I have had people tell me to dps before as a warrior though - the warriortankitis as you so put it dissipated an expansion or two agoThis is a hydra. It used to belong to SFG and Vi, but now it belongs to SFG and Phate.
