It's a big drop off in scumminess from the top 2, but i'd say you and camn have been slightly fishy.

Well my initial read of easjo was leaning scummy because she was flying under the radar and was mostly defensive except for pressuring Spadille and voting racerman.

So far, hiplop has been null leaning townie, however.

With camn that's mostly from the jumping all over Spadille, then calling him town. Since then nothing bad really.

Name the number one thing you use to identify scum...
Have you ever done this as town?

How do you feel about the Abated player slot?

The fact that both you and chkflip were very much so for that lynch yesterday and now today have suddenly seemed to abandon that thought without reasoning doesn't sit well with me.

It's my first game so i'm figuring things out on the fly, but anybody that's overdefensive or 'flailing' as it's called is scummy

I'm inclined to agree- I see that player slot as scum also, I just hate the thought of scum skating by just because they take a vacation.

I see that juanpa is coming back from V/LA on or after Sunday which is tomorrow for my time zone....I want an explanation- I am in no rush to lynch either. I need some input from juanpa and Sigma before that happens and the deadline is like 2 weeks away.

chkflip is MIA-- I think he's at his mom's but in all honesty he's just unreliable. flaky, like pie crust but not delicious.

mass roleclaim? Usually I am against it, but it is day 2...the thing you'd have to look at is...is it worth it? Scum obviously don't have any leads considering the no kill result from last night- either by accident or on purpose they aren't succeeding. So why would we out our power roles? I mean this is a newbie game so roles are limited anyway, scum won't claim scum so I don't really see how in this situation it will help us. I think more so it'll help them pick us off.

BS2000, do you think a mass claim would be a good idea, if so...why? because I just don't see it as helpful.

Yeah you're right mass roleclaim does nothing,

unless

somebody were to claim jailkeeper or doctor and who they protected or kept. But with 3-4 players being V/LA or lurky that just makes things messy and helpful for scum.

I'm just trying to find ways to get discussion going, perhaps RQS or something, I don't know we just have to patient.

Hm... Is it even possible to dig myself out of this hole? Quite frankly, I have no idea why Spadille did what he did. All I can say is, wouldn't scum rather appease the players to avoid detection? Sure, not giving reads is anti-town, but defending it so adamantly rather than just giving in and giving his reads is a not something scum would do in my eyes. It brings unwanted attention. I really can't say anything about him providing his own meta. If anyone wants to enlighten me on anything else he's done that's scummy, I'd love to attempt to explain what he might have been thinking.

Also, just a quick check on brokenscraps shows he hasn't posted anything since his post here, so I doubt he left solely because he was flustered. It probably had nothing to do with his disappearance.

So now that I've done a sub-par job of defending Spadille, I'm going to read some ISOs and get my reads up when I have a chance.

P-edit: I don't think massclaim would be helpful here. It's only day 2. Then again, I've never been in a massclaim situation.

I'm more inclined to believe that it was a Doc or Jailer. I mean, if both of the Mafia were inactive, I would think the mod would extend the deadline. (Actually, maybe he wouldn't since that could give away that they have some sort of night action. I wouldn't know.) And if they didn't have any leads, they would probably just choose someone randomly. I doubt they would purposefully give up a chance to get rid of a townie. That would mean they would have to survive another day undetected. I know I wouldn't want to if I were scum, especially since as the days pass, there would be process of elimination to narrow down the choices. In short, while it's possible that the scum would no-kill on purpose, you seem to hold that possibility much more highly than you should. The chances of that are fairly slim, while there's an 83% chance we have at least a Jailer or a Doc.

I presented it as an option, because I've seen more experienced players do so to cause confusion and I don't want people to rule out anything, although as I said before it could have been on purpose or by accident-the bolded is more likely what happened I mean numbers wise people just aren't participating...
