You're the only one pointing it out, Y.

Have you considered that scum may be laying low avoiding attention?

Why dont you focus your efforts on them instead of Twomz?

He's been trying to contribute and defend himself against all your bandwagoning, and it's gotten us nowhere.

I don't like the way you go about doing things Y. It seems to be a distancing tactic regardless, because you don't take any responsibility.

About his posting restriction: The way I read it, the first part was the restriction (Bible part) and the Hitler part was what he put on by himself.

And the thing about the double-voting. I think it's also been argued that KNOWING that he's a double voter would help power roles and the town, but if we didn't know, there was higher chance of mafia knowing (since they have more then 1 person).

If a double voter exists to the extent that both of their posts are shown on the vote count, I think its fair game for people to point it out. Trying to hide it seems folly to me, since it would be so obvious.

Hop Shui points out that there are no double-voters in Communism. Everyone gets one vote.

The East is Red,
The sun rises,
China produced a Mao Zedong,
He seeks happiness for the people,
He is the People's great savior.

After the millions of deaths and wholesale economic disaster of the Great Leap Forward, the normally ultra-cautious Liu Shaoqi outsmarted Mao in front of no less than 7000 party delegates and cadres.

The 7000 participants were there to have a rational discussion about the tragedy, but it was made clear to them that criticism was not welcome.

Towards the end of the days-long conference, Liu Shaoqi was supposed to make a speech praising Mao to high heaven. Instead, Liu laid into Mao's policies. "People do not have enough food, clothes, or other essentials," he said; "agricultural output, far from rising in 1959, 1960 and 1961, dropped, not a little, but tremendously... there is not only no Great Leap Forward, but a great deal of falling backward." Liu's speech brought a torrential response from his audience, who could hardly wait to raise their voices.

Inwardly, Mao was black with rage, but held his fire as Liu clearly had the support of the 7000 participants.

Lin Biao stepped on the podium, ans saved Mao's bacon by going on with the usual high praise of the leader.

Being forced by Liu Shaoqi's strategy to change the party's policies was Mao's biggest setback since he came into power. He had been given the thumbs-down by virtually all of the stratum that ran the country. From this moment, Mao nurtured a volcanic hated for Liu and the officials who hahd attended the conference. He was out for revenge. For this reason, a few years later, he launched his gerat purge, the Cultural Revolution, in which Liu and most of the officials in that hall were to be put through hell.

As Mme Mao spelt out, Mao had "choked back this grievance at the Conference of the Seven Thousand, and was only able to avenge it in the CUltural Revolution." Of course Mao was not just in quest of revenge. I was obvious to him that this set of officials was not prepared to run the country the way he wanted. He would purge them all, and install new enforcers.

Student Hop Shui dutifully calligraphed the following on a big character poster:[/i]

I think the vote count is a little off... I voted and people changed their votes. I believe it is possible to unvote, since people had done it already (Unless something has changed since the last vote count).

@ Vaughn: I know I might act a little different than everybody else, but remember that I don't have the experience everybody here has (This is my third game, first big one, first non-newb one). I might think something's important when it isn't. I might overlook things. Sorry for being unexperienced, but I can't change that except by playing, and that's what I'm doing.

I think I'll start off with a
Vote: TSAGod

At least, if I'm not modkilled for taking so long to show up and THEN forgetting my posting restriction.

Anyway, I don't feel Twomz was particularly scummy in most of his interactions. Yes, he faked a posting restriction. It could be scummy, but then again it could be a town role with no restriction trying to fit in so he didn't end up the only one without a restriction...like that other fellow (Shamrock?)

But TSAGod has been lurking (I know, I know, one to talk, in fairness I was just oblivious) the whole time, only popping out to warn us all about heeding the message his restriction gives and to jump on the Twomz bandwagon. No reasons given. I feel okay with my vote for now.

Wait, most of the votes are on me, because the voters just unvoted, and we can't unvote, you have to revote?

That makes me feel a little better :). Welcome to the game Igota. Another person w/ a post restriction :?. *sigh*

Student Hop Shui would like to point out that unvoting is not in violation of any revolutionary guidelines. Any errors made will be quickly corrected. Also, one small disclaimer. This game may be slightly unbalanced do to our focus on historical relevence. However, attempts to exploit any imbalance in this game will result in your death.

Welcome to the game Igota75.

I'm not very suspicious of Twomz any more. While faking a posting restriction could seem scummy but it seems more likely me that he is town trying to fit in.

That is supposed to be "more likely to me that he is town trying to fit in."

This was originally for lurking, and now it's for a failure to contribute. As I pointed out, you have very few posts this game, all with minimal content. It's a mafia strategy to lay as low as possible, and let random townies duke it out with each other.

@ Tamuz: I just read that thread. And it's one good example. But why is it a mafia tell to make jokes? Couldn't he have just as well been pro-town? I'm sure if I looked for it, I could find many games where a pro-town player made a joke in the first post...

I reread the whole thread. Twomz isn't the only one who posted something that appears as a posting restriction, there were other players too.

We also have people that don't write much and I think there are two players that haven't write yet.
