The flavor of my role is that I was the 2nd-in-command to old Bossy McBosserson, and therefore have access to all the company's files. I found out that ibae hadn't been conspirating from her files, and that Fritz had from his. When I check Corsato, I discovered that there aren't physically any files about him in our database; that he isn't apparently even in our company. Hence my confusion.

I wish I had a perfectly good explanation, but I haven't . There's nothing in my role description that's even hinting towards a result like that. I wish I could be more helpfull in

What I can tell you is my actual role. I am Samuel, PI. Every night I can investigate a murder, and I find out who did it (it's a murder from the previous night). Unfortunately I'm only getting ingame names (Samuel, Kent, Sara etc.) so I think there is someone who can link playernames to gamenames, otherwise my role would be pretty useless. I could reveal my results, but that's not really usefull if we can not link that to playernames.

Agreed. If we don't lynch scum today, and the scum and SK (I'm sure everyone agrees that we have a SK and not 2 maffia families) do not kill eachothr tonight, we will have lost tomorrow. Then it's either scum or SK that wins.

Everyone has a role name but claiming your role name is pointless. Every single person in the game, scum or not, has a name that is a standard person's name. For example, Joe Bob or Frank. This makes claiming role NAMES a pointless exercise, but you are free to do so. You may also claim ROLES. However, obviously, you may not directly quote anything. Just a warning though; claiming role NAMES won't really get you anywhere. Then again, every IM has a little bit of flavour. Will it help you or am I throwing red herrings all over the place?

The only part of this paragraph that gives you even a beacon of hope, Corsato, is the last two sentences. Since we've been outright TOLD that claiming names is useless, unless there's some role running around finding out everybody's names then your role is not only awful, but bordering on outright useless. In fact, if there is someone with access to other names, your role is ba-roken beyond belief, as described.

I'm not willing to believe this role would exist in a vacuum of a counterpart rolename cop.
I'm not willing, either, to believe there are 3 investigative roles in a mini (which is what that would mean).

I don't believe you. And, looking back over their posts, neither Pooky nor Shamrock have breadcrumbed your counterpart role at all.
