yes it does. THe border is easly, simply instal bukkit and worldedit for a short time to make a round walls of bedrock around the world, then go to your mods.
Plus you'd need to go down and block off the underground too...

can't you just remove every block outside of 1000x1000 area or something? I guess you could build platforms out above the void then or something, but maybe thats ok?
@Xalxe yeah, but that's as simple as digging straight down to bedrock and typing "//pos1", then flying to the next corner. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I like that idea. Also, if it's not too complicated to explain, what are you thinking of doing for the randomization?

Create 8 player files, with spawns thrown randomly on the map
sent files to someone else
they assign each file to a player
add to server
...

Right, I just don't know how I'd go about making the player files. So once I can get hosting sorted out, could I make the map and send it to you so you can create the files, then you can send it to someone else to assign names to them, who can send the finished world back to me to put in the server?
And WorldEdit is a command-based mod. For most of the tools, you use "//pos1" and "//pos2" (or left and right click with a wooden axe) to select an area, then use various commands to alter the blocks there. So to change everything selected to bedrock, I'd use "//set 7" - the set command changes all the selected blocks, and 7 is Bedrock's data value.

That would so badly lag a 256mb server to try to change millions of blocks at once.
