Oi, just because I don't always start out with discussing doesn't mean I have zero interest! Terrible misrep of what I was trying to say. Just terrible. Not to mention, as TS said, the game only just started and not everyone's checked in. Impatient, much?

I have no idea how to start a game. These random questions are just something I tought I try out. Why I say zero interest is because that is the feeling I get when I read your posts. I also dont see you putting up an alternitive and so my gut tells me, he doesnt care for the game. That the game only just started is in my eyes not really an excuse. The days are already counting and I have been in a pervious game where we started the first couple of days ( in day 1) with only a few people.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I expect from an SE or IC that they get the game rolling or atleast explain to the newbies how to do that. You can act all but hurt how you want, but its just my oppinion. You cant exactly say that you have been very productive in this game so far. Im not saying that I have been so much more productive but I like to think that I try.

I'm a little concerned at how upset you are that Voidedmafia didn't answer your random questions, given that he had already started making non-random votes. Do you consider discussion without voting more pro-town than voting without discussion?

I wouldnt call it being upset. Its more that I expected more. Maybe that is just a false expectation, but I still felt I had to adress it.
As to your questions, I dont know really. As I said above, I have no idea how you can start a game in a good way. With votes you put some pressure on people but that pressure is very little because everyone knows that that random vote counts for nothing. With some random questions you can start asking people about their answers since we can only analyze the words people decide to write down. If id had to choose tough I would say that discussion without voting is more fruitfull. I think there is more to be gained there.

To be honest, anyone can. That the three of you have more experience on this site is not entirely relevant to the question/observation. That's one reason I'm not too keen on using meta to try and pin down players. Past statements and past performance are not necessarily predictors of how players act in the current game because play-style is easily manipulated. And part of the fun of newbie games is that new players can be full of surprises.

Don't get me wrong, I've happened to read a game or two you (VM) were in while trying to figure out how people tend to play games on this site. I do have plenty of respect for you as a player. But what's in the past is out the window, and for the moment you're just a name and an avatar posting in this thread just like anyone else.

And FYI -- that isn't to say METAing doesn't have its uses. I've busted scum in the past in part by observing their constant activity in other games while making excuses about not fulfilling promises in the present game. It's just not the be-all-end-all some people make it out to be.

I don't have any great reads at present. Larry's eagerness and your inquisitiveness could be interpreted as town I suppose. VM has also acted a bit rash and impulsive thus far I feel to be scum. However these reads are weak, premature and subject to change

I'm no expert on VM. I hardly recall our last game and he was scum then anyways so even if I could recall I have no clue what he's like as town. If he tries to get you quick-lynched on page 5 like last time I played with him though then he's probably scum

usually a wagon (a collection of numerous votes on one player) provides sufficient pressure to offer momentum and get the game rolling. the distribution of votes at present seems rather too conservative and spread-out though. That coupled with a couple yet to really and vote post makes this game not the fastest in the land.

I'm familiar with the intricacies of Mafia and wearing masks, masks that we all seem to enjoy wearing in our days of weaving deception. Or trying to unravel it.

I did a quick read, and there were some oddities: VM's approach to TS's random vote seemed odd and peculiar. TS, does VM's response seem warranted?

Zyx, your vote is ticklish, albeit I appreciate it in its seeming lack of sincerity. A good RVS vote nonetheless.

, not playing this game. Even if my interest DID drop, I would still stay in until I'm dead (I'm very proud of the fact that I've never replaced out). I think there's a big difference between those two.

Also, while we as ICs/SEs are here to help you learn, we are also players in the match-up as well, and this is how I play as a player. I will go out of my way sometimes to help you lean (like if TS doesn't answer something), of course, but there's still me.

As for production, we're only three pages in. Expecting anything bigger than chit-chat is a little much.

That's true, and IIRC that's why some players consider meta to be bunk.

eh. VM's kinda weird. I'm not sure what to say. I don't expect townies (particularly experienced ones) to directly protest against a random vote on them, but I don't see why experienced scum would express such blatant paranoia. I'm willing to forget it tbh.

Not much happened so far, beside Voidedmafia going on a crusade and getting into arguments/debates/discussions with everyone (not that it's a bad thing), and I'm going with the assumption that most of these people are townies, hence my vote; the mafia has nothing to do beside sitting back and watching VM argue with everyone, which is something you have been doing.
