Voided is right. I would like to apologize for the way I reacted to everyone involved.

I have a long history of over-reacting like that when something annoys me. You'd think at my age (35 in August) I'd have learned to ignore that impulse and think things over before responding.

I even had a long post (now deleted sadly) written that I was coming to the thread to post when I saw mafia-n00b's post that set this whole thing off.

@Mod: If you will allow it I'd like to retract the self-hammer and continue from where we were before that triggered this whole thing. If not I understand.

This will officially be my last post until our mod returns from v/la Sunday and responds.

Could you try to remember what you posted, anyways? Just in case the mod counts the vote anyways?

Unfortunately I can't recover the file. I've restarted the compute since then which is set to auto clear the recycle bin.
If I do wind up continuing I'll try to recreate the post.

Be better to do it regardless. I don't know SB's preference for situations such as this, so better to err with caution.

After your town mayor left for the weekend, all hell breaks loose. Jackal711 is close to the noose when he strings himself up and with incredible dexterity kicks the box from under himself. He seems to regret it immediately, but it is kinda hard to talk with rope around your neck. He does give off an evil smile as he breathes his last.

Jackal711, Mafia Goon, lynched Day 2.

Slightly more willing to accept a mislynch, since that and the NK will just put us at Lylo, but I have a voice quivering in the back of my head.

Staying off for now, I want to hear from EVERYONE ELSE first, not just you, CES.

For me, those reads are switched (hoop pretty much town, Mafia closer to null). Though, I see your point.

Still would like to hear the others.

Could you two please explain your town reads on Hoopla? I just don't get it, and Hoopla seems by far the most likely Jackal711 partner.

Jackal711's freak out plays into this, too, considering they both (Jackal711 and Hoopla) got to avoid having to answer about their respective reads of each other.

VOTE: Hoopla

Cogito Ergo Sum, you're wrong. Why are you so dead set on being wrong?

Will address other concerns later today.

As if there's the remotest chance of the freak-out being staged?

More votes for obvscum, please.

I will not be playing fast and loose with votes at this stage.

CES, I'm not convinced on DLG, lay it out more clearly.

DLG, do you *honestly* think Jackal's freak-out was staged??

Hoopla, Voided, why no Jackal vote?

Kamikrazy spent most of early D1 posturing instead of scumhunting and then went after early targets later (which is very much consistent with scum who doesn't know how to fake scumhunting).

Then DLG comes in with that feels all kinds of wrong. Finding Jackal scummy and then pushing Hoopla as a potential partner wouldn't be completely crazy, but he pushed it a package straight away and there's absolutely no "Hey, I think I've caught the scum team!" vibe. It feels like a premeditated "Okay, I'm going to lose my partner but let's see if I can't get a free mislynch out of it." features more shallow Hoopla-Jackal reasoning.

Well, it all depends on what you mean by "staged".

Do I think this was a pre-planned Day 2 move between Jackal711 and Hoopla?
No, that makes absolutely no sense.

Do I think Jackal711 posted some fake histrionics and intentionally self-hammered?
Yes.

Do I think Jackal711 did that to try to avoid connections to his partner?
Yes. Why else would scum self-hammer?

In post 335, DLG wrote:What's your read on Jackal711?

@ Jackal711

Waht's your read on Hoopla?

The first question was directed at Hoopla.

Jackal711's freak out occured after this, and allowed both him and Hoopla to avoid answering my direct question to each of them. So, yeah, I think it was staged in the sense that it was a smokescreen.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

You're referring to 328?

Sorry, I had no idea what "those kind of shenanigans" meant in that context. How would your vote on Jackal have been any kind of shenanigan?

If you mentioned why you weren't voting Jackal elsewhere, I missed it.

How about you answer these questions.
DLG wrote:How so is it dumb? We agree that Jackal711 looks scummy. So, the problem has got to be in the Hoopla portion.

Do you disagree that Hoopla was protecting Jackal711? Do you think that it makes sense to power through two lynches to protect Player A simply because you don't think Player A is a likely partner for Player B when the alignment of Player B remains unknown? Do you think Hoopla was not the primary driver of those two Day 1 lynches?

DLG wrote:Could you two please explain your town reads on Hoopla? I just don't get it, and Hoopla seems by far the most likely Jackal711 partner.

Show me how I'm wrong about Hoopla. You've got a town read on her, fine. Explain it to me.

Yeah, I pushed it as a package. When I read through upon replacing in, izakthegoomba, Hoopla, and Jackal711 all looked like they had culpability in both mislynches. At start of Day 2, izakthegoomba was dead, so that eliminated that.
DLG wrote:Both mislynches and both had izakthegoomba, Hoopla, and Jackal711 on them.
...
There is undeniable team work going on between them, and with the izakthegoomba NK, I feel very comfortable that these two are scum.

Not my fault your "vibe" sensing is out of whack.

Your imagined explanation for my play is all well and good. It certainly fits the theory you've been pushing since Post 298. Of course, when you posited that theory, Kamikrazy hadn't posted for 4 days (100 posts).

Here's the thing, it's just as possible to paint you as thinking, "Okay, I'm going to lose my partner but let's see if I can't get a free mislynch out of it."

Now, could you stop pushing for this mislynch and help me get Hoopla lynched so we can win?
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

It's too crazy to fake. You don't come up with that sort of thing.

Maybe after Hoopls responds to my question.

Izak was obvtown anyway...

Do my posts create that impression? Pretty sure they don't. That someone could try and spin them that way seems more of a theoretical point than anything relevant to the game.
