Yeah, crypto, you should be asking who we want you to vote for, not the other way around. Also participation in the game and responding to comments about your play should only be done on a superficial, snarky, hit-and-run level.

lrn 2 mafia

god that's too snarky for me but it makes the point I'm trying to say. NS stop ignoring real content.
Engineers accepted the word “planetary” in its epicyclic sense, but I was always conscious that it also meant “wandering,” “erratic.”

there's nothing scummy about having to foses and wanting to lynch them both and being tired of them still being alive despite the fact that many other players seem to suspect them. ambivalence about which gets lynched should be understandable after the entire town decided to lobotomize itself and lynch probably the most obvious townie in the game.

i think these (crypto's) kinds of statements aren't scummy as long as why he wants them lynched probably wouldn't be affected by each of them getting lynched

Hey guys and gals. Page 19. Trying to catch up. Less fluff, emotional bickering, pictures and quote pyramids will help me out. Got some initial scum reads, but I'd rather actually hit D2 in my read before I post since D1 is normally kinda sketchy and 19 is only half the pages so far. Thanks.

In other news, skimmed stuff since yesterday. Going back to make a full post, which will include a (probably brief) analysis of yesterday's wagon. Hopefully I'll be done in under an hour.

Alright fine. I'll play along.

It's scummy to say "both of these people need to be lynched" because of at least these reasons (there may be more):

1. It doesn't take into account what either of them will flip. If one of them flips scum, it may prove the other is town, or vice versa.
2. It backhandedly encourages people to subconsciously connect both players together, whether or not they are aligned with each other.
3. It allows lurking scum to "hide behind" both of the named players, and directs too much discussion to the pair, and away from others.

Now you please play along too. Explain why it's not a scumtell.

"Right fucking now."

Wow! Reads change?

That's impossible. You've basically just said that if I say "I want to lynch x and y" I can never say "I don't want to lynch x/y anymore" in the future.

That's fucking stupid.

Uber wrote:2. It backhandedly encourages people to subconsciously connect both players together, whether or not they are aligned with each other.
Ah. The subconscious. This is just false. There's no way to argue with this. You're basically saying that one player's opinion will drastically affect the rest of the player's opinions because they stated it. While this is true in some cases, it's not in this one.

Uber wrote:3. It allows lurking scum to "hide behind" both of the named players, and directs too much discussion to the pair, and away from others.
Which means that they targeted bad town or scumbuds. Besides, this is the same thing if you want to lynch one player. You focus just about everything on them while others address you on them. See, this whole lynch thing is a cycle. In order for the cycle to contain a continuous circular motion, it needs two things. A, the basis of the case. B, the questioning of the basis. If there's only A, there's probably something wrong. In addition, you can't have B without A. Basically, you're trying to say that NS is scum here, I get it.

Don't really care.

1. FoSing two players is just about the equivalent of lynching them.

If you have a town read on just about everyone else in the game and you want one dead and you FoS another(and you're town to note--so no chainsaw), if you lynch your wanted lynch there's a pretty damn good chance you'll want your FoS dead, especially if your lynch target flips scum.

Ergo, yes reads can change but stating something at that point isn't harmful.

2. There's no point in not wanting more than one person dead during a game.

If you can go through the entirety of your games and say that you've only wanted one person dead every game at every moment, then you should meet my friend Parama. You guys would play very nice. By saying "hey I want X and Y dead", you're just asserting your opinion.

There's not much to prove here. If I want X and Y dead, I'll say it. To make it worse, there's more scum incentive to say "I want X dead." X dies, he's townie. Scum then says "I want Y dead." psst Y is townie too. If scum says "I want X and Y dead" there's more chance to say "no, X was town. your reads suk" rather than to not know them.

Basically, the whole jist of this, is that you're calling someone saying "lynching two people" in a game bad, where there's been multiple people, like myself, who have called two people scum.

hmm.

wonder if I want to lynch scum...
