Loras be Renly's ghost, to keep things simple. Though i really want to see more of the tyrells in TWOW and ADOS so i'm holding out hope they will introduce Garlan in the show.
He's minor so far, so it's conceivanle he'll be cut. Or they'll just have some random play him? Eh, they don't even need to cast for Garlan - just put someone in Renly's armour and it works.
Just realised this thread is massively full of spoilers <_< oh well.

I don't remember this. The Red Viper uses poison but it's more the Reed's that use poison and are looked town upon for it. Also fairly sure Oberyn is proficent with the sword - just chose to use the spear against Gregor.
It's probably the Clegane's and Barristan anyway. And no, not the Knight of Flowers - can't imagine Jaime thinking he'd be a match for him.
I'm not exactly sure Tyrion and Jaime would share opinions on it but Tyrion specifically states something about poison being unhonorable and Oberyn tells him not to worry about it considering the poison will save Tyrion's life. There is a bunch of stuff scattered through the books saying poison is unhonorable
Also, when was it said that Garlan was Renly's ghost? I don't remember that at all.
And why did someone spoiler tag that Cersei was dead? I totally expecting her to be dead at the end o the 5th book and she wasn't, what the fuck?
Don't exactly remember when it was revealed, but I know it's true. And yes, I agree that poison may not be considered honourable but it doesn't massively detract from Oberyn's skill with weapons - he's quite infamous for a duel where his opponent died from one strike. I was more so I don't remember the Dornish being tied to poison; that's the Reed's that have that reputation.

Really? =( terrible
It's not really that terrible. We haven't seen her entire arc yet.

I had assumed that one of them was Loras, who beat Jaime in a tournament, which creates dramatic irony because we know that Brienne beat Loras in an earlier scene. I haven't read the books, though.

No. Loras is a good tournament combatant, not a good swordsman.

Barristan is one, certainly (I think Barristan even says something like this in the book). I don't think Jaime really respects Loras until
he loses his hand.
And he specifically states that he thinks he could defeat Gregor (but never says about Sandor). And he came pretty close to losing to Brienne, but I'm not sure that counts under the circumstances.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are only 4 choices, The Clegane's, Barristan, and Oberyn. And at that point it's open to interpretation, but I can assure you he wasn't meaning Loras, for what Sudo said. Also Loras is known more for his lance then for swordplay.
Well, he was being hyperbolic presumably. There are obviously more than 3 people with a
chance
of beating him. Or he's just being arrogant, I mean Garlen Tyrell probably has a chance of beating him. Some of the Rangers of the NW, would have a chance but yeah for the three Jaime meant it's in those 4.

Yeah that's what I meant. If we are opening up to people he doesn't know or doesn't respect, the list would probably grow but He has to think they possibly have a chance for the statement to be about them.
Its entirely possible that the writers don't know which three they are talking about. And it's just to show exactly how highly Jaime thinks of himself.

I thought Barristan, Ned, and Robert. Or possibly Rhaegar. But he said they were still living.
If Jeyne isn't actually from Volantis, I'll be pissed. I mean, I know she's not, but her new rewrite had better not turn out to be Westerosi after all.
In post 921, Amrun wrote:I thought Barristan, Ned, and Robert. Or possibly Rhaegar. But he said they were still living.
Ned and Rhaegar wouldn't come in to consideration anyway. Ned was never remarked as being an amazing swordsman - Rhaegar neither as far as I remember.
Robert was obviously deadly, with his strength and warhammer. Not sure he had the finesse to beat Jaime though - still it'd probably only take one lucky hit.
are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?
I disagree. Jaime wanted to fight Ned one on one because he respected Ned as a swordsman and thought Ned could actually give him a good fight. That's why he was so mad that his guardsman injured Ned, because then the fight wasn't even anymore.
And Rhaegar was, I think, the only person to ever beat Selmy in a sword fight.
