It's not fireproof - the ballroom floor is just birch planks, and the top floor is all pine. Walls are woodslab with stone reinforcement, but fire can do a fair amount of damage.

I was using izak's awesome blaze farm (got two picks with Efficiency 4, Unbreaking 3, Fortune 3, one with Silk Touch), and I noticed it says I'm afk when I afk for a while. Does this have any consequences, or is it just for people's information?

I believe it makes you invulnerable, and incapable of interacting with anything (like picking up items). You can use /afk to trigger it early.

Hmmm, I don't think being AFK has any in-game effect (can anyone check?). But I set up the server so that it will kick people if they stay AFK for 30 minutes.

Well, in 1.3, about 15 minutes at the Blaze spawner will be enough to get to level 30. I don't think I'm going to bother with and Enderman farm now.

it depends hwo you configured it. you COULD make it so that when you are afk, you can't be moved/you can't pick up any items. Prevents afking at spawners too

I don't see the problem with afk'ing at farms that continuously kill the mobs. It's not like they increase lag or anything.
