Also, I think I might mod a mafia game sometime in the future and I've been thinking about trying a minecraft theme. I've looked around a little bit and haven't seen anyone claiming dibs. Just want to make sure I'm not stepping on any toes before I go thinking about it too much.

I haven't put a lot of thought in yet, but I'm kinda limited in that I'm only eligible for mini theme modding (only 1 completed modded game) and I'm not even /in the queue yet so it would be a while.

@MME/Claus, I think I am going to give up hosting on my server. It's the same price as yours, but I think a 1.25 gig instead of a 1.0, and irs pre-paid until Nov. 4th.

well I started a SP world with a seed: mafiascum server is down

If you don't mind spawning in a jungle there's actually some pretty neat terrain in the immediate vicinity.

Maybe I'll see about getting optifine since I can't play right now. For some reason my fps are down to ~10 even on SP. Probably the jungle and loading a new world has something to do with that.

Unless you're flying with a speed mod, generating and loading the world shouldn't take very long. If you're consistantly having trouble, optifine is probably the best option.

Do brain storming for minecraft mafia, lets make a list of all mob names and whatever else would make good role names, or do we want to do minecraft players' names?

I played around with the multi core edition of optifine. might as well make use of the dual core processor. Messed with some of the settings. I like the options for clear water and eliminating the void fog.

I think if I can ever get back on our server I'll go exploring. Some pretty neat terrain out there I just haven't seen on our server yet. I'd love to find a huge overhang like this for example, which I found within 100m from spawn on the SP world I created:

The rail station isn't toooo in the way, the only thing I didn't like is how you made part of the platform over the pig pen I had. Then again, the pig pen is only temporary.

Lets run a SECOND server!!!! A MODDED SERVER!!!! (I'll pay for this one, so Claus/MME have no more financial worries, and since I'll likely be the primary player)

I was thinking of Simple Ores and Nether Rocks

I want at least 4 other people beside myself to show a decent form of interest in going on with this before I decide fully.

If any of you want to suggest mods, they MUST be Forge Compatible, and MUST have SMP versions. And all the players who show interest have to show some form of interest in the mod as well.

(No Redpower/IC2/etc please. shit confuses me.)

(My ideas were since we'd likely not have enough interest to make a full-sized city. that we'd be more cooperative, and all work together at it. Like build a communal compound for everyone together. Like UT and IUT's place. (or we could always get peopel from MCforums) )

And to anyone complaining about changing mods: get magiclauncher. Makes it a two-second job, and you don't even have to patch the .jar.
