Chloroform girl, how have you been?
Don't let me catch you sleeping again
You're only alive because I like you
It's been three years since you've seen the sunlight
But I know you're having fun
Bound, gagged and chained up in my basement

Well I see Gamma is either faking a result to get a policy lynch effected or scum. The list of people I get to mock post-game (along with both heads of the hydras) grows by one.

Anyone who thinks there is any chance I flip scum needs to return to Road to Rome.

I relish all the jockeying that is going on to take credit for this lynch. It makes me chuckle.

@Gamma
- Nope. I will await your 'explanation' of how your legitimate result was dead wrong in the Dead QT.

Frankly I'm not going to even bother fighting since Day is in such a good position we can afford at least 1 terribly stupid lynch.

Probably people should get around to asking Petapan who his protect was last Night as some point. Questions should also be made about Town having TWO players who can effectively make themselves BP every Night (Shmugen and Petapan).

also i KIND of want to lynch Seraphim tomorrow and just see if that wins us the game but that seems too easy.
Seeing whether MoI was pulling a night-gambit for extra mislynches or a SK-gambit because sk's gotta have da big balls will be a little useful i guess though.

So guys, the time's come. I decided I'd reveal this to everyone today if I was still alive. It's not need to know information but it can help and there's nothing lost or gained by saying it at this time.

In this game is a mechanic called The Key, as you might guess by Quilford's flip. If Night gets it, they will get some sort of powers a.k.a. all I know is, if they get it, things are not going to be pretty. In the book, Christopher Carrion and Mater Motley NEED the key to achieve Absolute Midnight, their plan to take over the Abarat. So, the Key is out there. If you have it, keep it safe. Try to predict the nightkills as best you can. If you get it, it's best to pass it only to your strongest townreads and only if you trust them in a LYLO situation. It has to be THAT strong kind of trust. If you have noone and you think you have as good a chance as being the next NK as anyone else, just hold onto that shit. Odds are you aren't a big problem for Night. Commexo gets 0 powers from the Key so Commexo reads honestly shouldn't take place except that he might purposefully try to give it to scum. Im not sure if the new owners get this info when they acquire the key aside from the power/actions it gives them.

I'm positive Night knows about it due to them having the Key mentioned in their rolenames. Now all of us are on the same page. It could be anywhere, on anyone by now. I know for a fact Night couldn't have possibly tracked all actions related to me since N1 and followed the Key's passing up to this point. It should go without saying but, if you have the Key, don't say a word. Either keep it or pass it on. That's the info. There shouldn't be any debate around this. It's just information. You can believe it or not but I honestly don't give a fuck about convincing any of you fucks it's out there or not. You'll either get it if or you'll see I wasn't lying at endgame.

With that said, let's do this.

There was a sharp cracking sound. The nightmares inside Carrion’s collar—too big to be contained any longer—were fracturing the glass. The dark fluid in which they’d swum ran hissing down over the Prince of Midnight’s robes. A flicker of concern came onto Carrion’s face as he realized that his beloved nightmares were about to break out. Then he seemed to change his mind. For an instant something resembling a smile flitted across his lipless mouth. Then the fracture in the collar gaped, and the fluids gushed out, hitting the boards at his feet with a wet slap. For the first time Candy saw Carrion’s nightmares in all their lurid glory: they hung around his neck with their pallid, twitching lengths knotted and intertwined.

But they didn’t hang there for very long. No sooner had the collar emptied of fluid than they began to swell again, seeming almost to turn themselves inside out in their eagerness to be greater than themselves, skin following skin following skin, mottled one moment, scarlet the next; white speckled with yellow the next. They had eyes, she saw. Clusters of long eyes, like the petals of shiny black flowers, and around the eyes there were trails of eggs, which were even now beginning their own horrific life cycle. They shook themselves free of the parent creature and went into freefall, but had only dropped a foot or so before they sent out a little hook which caught somewhere in the fabric of the robes. There the next generation rapidly swelled up and fattened, so that the Prince of Midnight became a kind of grotesque nursery, alive with all manner of mewling, spittling things; some made in an instant into the very image of venom and sudden death, others still sickly in their infant state.

You're adjusted to the Council in more ways than one. Not only are you becoming quicker to align yourself with it every Session, you're growing quicker to unmake. Or maybe it's simply the lower numbers. Whatever the reason, the Council was barely in session before a lynch was declared.

The fires of unmaking burned, as normal - and then, suddenly, there was a strange warping that seemed to overcome you. It was as though your stomach had been turned inside out- if you had a stomach, anyway. This was a new feeling.

And suddenly you realized - you had never unmade someone who was on your side before...

"You have unmade Mespa, sister of the Fantomaya."

For once, you're grateful for the darkness taking away your thoughts.

MagnaOfIllusion - Mespa, Sister of the Fantomaya (
Day
aligned Citizen), unmade in the Fourth Session.

All Recess actions are due at 10pm cst on Wednesday, August 22nd. The Fifth Session will begin then.

The first death hardly affected you.

Of course, it's always sad to come to the Council missing another mind. But this mind belonged to Diamanda, last sister of the Fantomaya. There were three of them, and now, the last living one joins her sisters. Surely there is some sort of order in that.

But you can feel her power absent, now - a light backround hum you didn't notice until it was gone. She had more strength in her than her sisters in this venue.

Still, it's right and proper that the Fantomaya is once again whole.

The other death, though...

Her link to the Abarat was tenuous. She visited only in her dreams. No alignment with this side or that side - only with keeping her daughter safe. And instead, she got to feel her daughter die long before she could join her.

How did they even get to Chickentown, where Melissa Quackenbush's body was? Did they call the sea? Or did they not even kill her body and instead just destroy her mind?

Someone from the Hereafter, killed over the affairs of the Abarat. The Council of the Mind has higher stakes than ever.

Kills are presented in random order.

4nxi3ty - Melissa Quackenbush, the Dreamer (
Day
aligned Citizen), killed in the Fourth Recess.

Image

petapan - Diamanda, Sister of the Fantomaya (
Day
aligned Non-Consecutive Abductor), killed in the Fourth Recess.

An abductor makes both her and her target immune to Active and Factional abilities, while also preventing the target from using Active or Factional abilities.

The Fifth Session of the Council of the Mind has begun.

With 10 votes in play, it takes 6 to secure a lynch. Deadline is on 11pm CST, September 5th 2012.

Automatic Termination of the Fifth Session(expired on 2012-09-05 22:00:00)
