I'm just so unsure on how to play the Mesmer. Nothing feels exactly right. This class is quite complicated.
I see Mesmers sometimes wind up being pure supports in PvP, which is interesting, but support isn't going to do much for anyone in PvE when I'm solo questing. HOW DO I DO THE DEEPS?
I haven't played a mesmer, but Sword/Pistol and Sword/Torch both look like they bring the pain, and staff looks good for range. And the Domination skill tree looks amazing if you've got the interrupts and the timing.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
Sword works if you got the Vitality/Toughness for it, but with the light armor and low hp in general, Mesmers aren't so fond of melee.
My favorite weapon for Soloing is Greatsword, which can get clones out fast, and the auto-attack damage is higher the farther you are, and it has a nice interrupt, then I switch to Staff for Events or PVP
