I finally got a new skin! Made it myself!

Also I've been trying to play a single-player world, but after about ~3 (non consecutive) hours of play, I find myself bored. Maybe it was because spawned in a jungle biome, which is my least favorite place to spawn, but what are some tips to spice up my game? I've been contemplating mods, so any good mods that aren't horribly complex would be fun to suggest as well.

I feel like a lot of the biomes in EBXL are useless. But I don't know, I'll give it another looksee.

The other two I haven't checked out, but I'll do it right now...

Metallurgy seems like a bit of the sort of variety I'm looking for.

Tropicraft seems a little floozy and specific.

Ideally I'd probably do Mo' Creatures, Elemental Creepers, Metallurgy, and possibly EXBL, but these'll probably have conflicts. Also, if I want to play on the server, I don't have to uninstall all these do I? That's a stupid question, isn't it?

I kinda regret deleting some of my single player worlds on updates instead of just moving to new chunks. It would be awesome if I was still building on my original snow spawn on 1.2 beta.

I need to do this. I'm still interested in my island spawn world but after restoring the NPC village, I started losing focus on what exactly I want to do.

Also we should reschedule the R2R! I was ready to get on after I got back from the movie but there was no claus and only a couple people online :(. I think It was probably just too chaotic with the server being down until just before.

The wiki said something about the # of inside blocks vs. the number of outside blocks on either side of the door within 5 blocks and I was all :?

And all my NPC's always end up in the same house every night so I never know if they recognize the other buildings/doors as part of the village :?

And idk how close do the buildings/doors have to be together to be considered part of the village? Can I expand indefinitely?

There was a thread on r/Minecraft with what is a valid door for a village. I'm pretty sure I linked that thread here somewhere.

Basically, you have 1 villager for every 3 valid doors. Villagers are counted within a certain radius from these valid doors, so if the villagers escape this radius, the doors produce more. Or something like that.

Creating a place full with villagers with dirt rat traps is not that hard... making a good looking apartment complex on the other hand is much more interesting :-)

I usually start my Single Player worlds by building farms for all the farmable objects, a restaurant, a magic tower. Then I go exploring some caves in search of dungeons. Build some beacon towers in interesting location within viewing distance of my town, and try to begin a rail system between these places. This is usually where I start to get lost/busy with other stuff, though. I had a really cool town going around in my beta1.8 world, but I stupidly deleted that one too when 1.2 came around.

Yeah, I was planning to stay on from 0:00 to 6:00, but with the server shenanigans, I left around 3:00 to meet some friends instead. Unfortunately, I'm already booked for the next two weekends, but you guys should totally organize that without me! It's the kind of event that we could do multiple times, and should become better with practice.

Essentially the doors have to be in the side of a house, and the wall opposite the door has to be reasonably close (5 blocks or so). I believe the inside has to be fully enclosed, too.

Villagers don't spawn except with world generation and converted zombies. Extra floors should work, provided you set the doors up right.
