Eh. I think I like the 2of4 better. F11's not bad, though. Just a little disappointing. I kept looking for breadcrumbs with Thor because I know he has a tendency to have the rolecop crumb simple words (i.e. "Hm" "okay" etc.), and then being disappointed when I realized there was no way to tell if there was a roleblocker or not.

For one. If you caught someone on meta and you are sure of it. I'd say go after them with everything you got.

Also don't second guess yourself at LyLo.

Well considering we lost the doc day 1, I'd say it was about the same as if it were the mountainous version. I was happy with it, except for the lurkers, but they haunt all setups.

I ask because back in the day I used to run F11's more than 2of4's.

I actually was one of the first mods to actually run a 2of4. they started on Newbie 1097 and I ran 1114.

I honestly dislike the new setup, F11 was more interesting to me. And I was never sure whether it was because it was what I was used to or if it was just more interesting.

I guess the former.

And I was wondering whether these are worth running more of, and if you think I'd get enough interest.

I pmed him to ask if that was the scumteam.

Actually that was after Viole voted Thor I did that, so my comment wasn't even true there.

@Robo, I think you would be able to get some more players, I'd possibly play it again.

In post 1211, Cheery Dog wrote:Thor how dare you make me read you wrong again. just as I was thinking I might have actually been able to read you correctly you go and pull some bluff on me here. Thanks for trying to correct my theory on you being town though.

I've said it once, I've said it a dozen times - very few people who claim they can 'read' me manage to keep that feeling after a second game. I have no real advice for you there, because any advice I have is for things I don't do anymore.

I think (maybe) the current one is to try to tell how much fun I'm having? The more fun I'm having the higher the chance of me being town...but I'm not sure what clear fun tells I have, and also I actually think my funk when playing scum gets into other games. I dunno. Sorry.

In post 1216, Malakittens wrote:Thor you were amazing, amazing.

You did an awesome job yourself, a solid tag team effort.

In post 1216, Malakittens wrote:We were so close to a perfect win, but Mit had to go fiddle with WIFOM :P
Tracey had to go do popcorn-switcharooooo and Vio was super tunneled on my partner for the longest time.

Yeah, but I think I left them doubting each other on my way out the door and also did a solid bus on you to spread some doubt.
Good choice on the NK - I was expecting you to try to exploit the Vio/Tracy doubt in this game.

In post 1218, TraceyLyn11 wrote:Mhmm. I'm confident I would have continued for your lynch, Mala, if I didn't realize one of my reasons for Vio being town were not entirely true. I had thought Vio's tunneling of Thor made Vio town. But then I realized that Vio had only voted for him once and never really went hard for his lynch; only for mine. I started thinking more about their interactions, and stuff I thought wasn't possible started making more and more sense.

To be fair, I'd been trying to convince each of you that I was partnered with the other. I'll admit it was one of the reasons you were the unquestioned townread and why Vio was oft mentioned but never voted or debated.

In post 1220, Mitillos wrote:Actually, my attack on Thor was no more WIFOM than pretty much any other case. I would expect any halfway competent scumteam to kill him as quickly as possible, because
every
scumteam would kill him as quickly as possible, so his death would give no indication as to who they are.

To be fair though - a lot of scum teams leave me alive exactly because of this as well. I actually had a pretty extensive lylo run this past year ending up in it as town something like seven or six times while being in the slot for multiple night phases. I also had a really awesome win percentage there. So I'll admit I am not a fan of the Thor in lylo=scum case.

It does catch me as scum a fair shake though, I'll also admit that, but...

In post 1231, Robocopter87 wrote:I honestly dislike the new setup, F11 was more interesting to me. And I was never sure whether it was because it was what I was used to or if it was just more interesting.

I think the new setup is strongly town favored on the whole and also more prone to follow the Cop/JKer situations.
I was also always a huge fan of F11 and it's actually the core reason I was interested in this game. I do think F11 tends to be a touch scum sided as scum gets a large info head start for fakeclaim purposes in addition to potentially a RBer, but I think it is the more balanced between it and 2of4.
Was also fun to play it again and remind myself of the strategy for it.

I'll run another in the future, probably then.

Gonna have an Open go into signups soon.

Faith Plus One.

But if you guys have any setups you want run that can run in the Micro Queue, I'll gladly oblige.

@Thor: You're sometimes left alive because of it and that's where it becomes WIFOM. But if we go by first principles instead, the conclusion is inescapable. But even if it's not a solid argument on its own, it is an argument that is valid. Plus, I really couldn't see any possibility of you not being scum on Day 3, because of who was left. And since it wasn't my only argument against you...

Still waiting for comments and criticisms, incidentally. Come on you guys, I was the newbie of this game, I need to get better at this.

The conclusion is flawed whether or not it is inescapable.
If it wasn't your only argument against me I would advocate leading with the others and not framing that as the main one.

When none of us believe he needs scrutinised more because of it, looks like you want town to start attacking him while leaving yourself out of the attack, even if you're the one wanting it.

PM, GNR, please pick up the activity levels.. :igmeou:

Nacho, Cheery, great job. Very townish.

Vio, work on the tunneling please. :igmeou:

Mit, great job; particularly in later days.

Thor, Mala, fantastic jobs. Totally deserved the win.

Thor, I'm sure this wasn't the case, but
was
your nicer attitude a result of being scum?

I don't think you're mean. Not at all. You never crossed the line or said anything offensive, I don't think. Rather than nice v. mean, I think it was nice v. agressive. You just seemed unusually laid back and cooperative this game, and it seemed extremely out of the ordinary compared to 1244 and other games I've seen you in.

The reason I ask is because if it's really because someone called you a jerk, I didn't want you to drop the whole agressive thing. It worked extraordinarily well for you, and, like I said, I don't think you ever crossed the line into dickishness. It was just part of the game. I didn't want you to think "everyone thinks I'm a jerk so I should be nicer". I'm sure the large majority would say you haven't crossed that line, and I'd hate to see you change your style based on a false assumption.

Totally up to you in the end, but that's just my two cents.

Could you clarify where you saw me be not aggressive in this game? I sort of think, like your comment about me not calling you 'derp' even though I had on a number of occasions, that you are coming from some per-conceived decision about my aggression levels.
I actually think I was still rather aggressive this game.
I pushed the GNR lynch through and got a lot of town points for my aggressive pushes and attitude towards lurkers.

What I'm trying to adjust is the more dismissive elements in my play, I have no desire to affect my aggression.
