What made me suspicious of Thor though was the complete change. Instead of going after me like he usually does, he went hard after HD, then suddenly switched. But I did not think I was capable enough a player to go after him full throttle. Voided I was of 2 minds I felt he might have been recruited after the initial clear, but I was not sure. And I was pretty sure his claim was a genuine derp. By that point, I was pretty sure that HD was VT and not recruited but I did not think he would believe I was as well, or else I would have tried to band with him to lynch Thor.

rach I don't play to people's rep cos I have seen the results of that and also cos I am simply not easily intimidated

when you cater to someone's rep you essentially hand them the game regardless of their alignment. where is the fun in that not to mention it ceases to be a mafia game. it happened to my main mentor which is why he retired. I am watching it happen to another player on my homesite. I read her as scum after 2 posts and tried to get her lynched in a recent game for 4 freaking straight days and nearly succeeded each time but there were 4 townies who had her in their town pile for dumb reasons and I pretty much went hysterical. their reasoning was mindboggling but nacho trusted my read and vig killed her and town won the game. it took an outside person to consider the possibility that she was anything but town. there were other players who got there in the end and were ready to lynch her the next day but by that time I am not sure it would have been enough.

I have been in that position too but ended up having to bow out of the games on that website cos it seemed to me like I had an unfair edge.

the best way to treat really strong players is to challenge them...that is what keeps them around. but not stupidly. <----laughing at myself cos sometimes me closing loopholes in the way that players reason things out will on the surface look pretty dumb or "bad" but it is how I get a firmer grasp on their presence in the game lol

eta: thor mentioned on tr that he is working like crazy hours something like 16 hours a day, I am sure he would have been around more if he had the time.

Meh, I don't really give two shits about meta for the most part anyways, so yeah. There are meta freaks here, though (Empire, Feysal maybe, maybe Tierce, etc.), so it's just a divergence of opinion.

It really is not so much a meta thing Mollie as a dynamic tween him and I. He always tries to get me lynched off the bat, even tried to get me lynched in a newbie game where I was the IC and already dead lol. (He had replaced in). It was that switch that had me suspicious, I figured the drop off in activity had to have a reason, Thor is not a lurker generally.

I tend to be a big picture person and often easy lynch bait, especially when RL is being a pain. I know I still have a LOT to learn about how to play Mafia. I have only played it on this site. A bit over a year ago, before NS moved up to be with me, we joined each other's games to help with bonding more.

over a month to finish (though you did get lucky with finding the SK N1) so I imagine 123 will take just as long, at least. Then, if the queue isn't too long (and Thor doesn't have too many commitments [he's my backup]), I'd imagine it should be up and have a sign-up sheet running no sooner than late March, early April.

Setup speculation? Do you guys think it was well rounded? I'm seeing how small patches of roles work amongst themselves before I go a bigger route. My setup for the Large Theme is pretty much set in stone so I'm basically using these Micros to see how the Anti-Cult roles stir in and how the write-ups will effect the game. Neither of which I got done with this one.

Though I would expect more interest will be had for the Large Theme once I've got a small group of folks that liked the Micros... so I guess that's another reason I did it.

Meh, I feel like I threw the game because I forgot how fucking powerful I was <_<. It doesn't help that in Meta Playstyle (and in a few other recently completed games) I was some form of vanilla for either alignment for a good stretch of time.

Still don't think I would've used the track on Jacob, though. I probably would've used it on Thor when he subbed in.

Not that I'm not trying to give stuff about roles, but it's kinda hard to do that when arguably the most powerful role isn't even used. <_<.

Mixing in an SK (or I suppose a mafia team) to act as a balancing force for the cult recruiting seems like a good idea to me, though.

Ive seen that happen far too often now, players forgetting their role. Perhaps you should include a rule in your rule set that you must respond with a no action PM or be prodded halfway through the night?

It's the player's fault if they forget to submit actions. The mod shouldn't be held to ensure that they do,

I mean, you can if you want, but at the end of the day it's the players fault if he does/doesn't use an ability.

As in lets say you were running a game and the serial killer forgot their role that would change the whole let up of the game.

Yes, but who's fault would it be? Not the Mod's, and it's not their responsibility to make up for the player's failure.
