I thought I had gotten a handle on drafting Gatecrash, up until I tried drafting Dimir last Saturday night. I think it's the first time I've 0-3'd! I thought my deck was relatively aggressive (fair two-drops with 3 Sprites, 2 Guildmages, and 1 Basilica Screecher + nice suite of removal with a couple Devour Fleshes, 3 Grisly Spectacles, a Dimir Charm), but the decks I faced were as I feared: speedy and lethal! [Lost to anexcellentBoros deck that won the draft, a mediocre Orzhov build where we only finished one game as opponent played agonizingly slowly, and then to a deck that pumped out a fast Assemble the Legion two games in a row.] I think my deck could have done better if I had managed to draft any Hands of Binding, but I think there were only two at the table and they were apparently drafted by the other players in blue.
On that note, I do think Gatecrash drafting has gotten a bit predictable. Seems like players largely try to draft Boros and/or Orzhov (my favorite being Orzhov), but that makes the combination so overdrafted that it seems like you should be rewarded for going into other colors. So far it has not seemed to be the case, but maybe I just haven't figured out the other guilds as much."Logic? I call that flapdoodle."-

I think the problem is that Boros bleeds the Gruul cards and Orzhov bleeds the Dimir cards. Simic probably should be open consistently. I drafted a solid Simic deck at work a couple weeks ago and only lost to a Boros deck, and only because I couldn't find a third land after mulling to 5 + beingjusta turn behind. Was able to win my other matchups against Orzhov and 5-color.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont. vermont is made of liberal freaks and cows. he's not a liberal. thus he is a cow

Gatecrash drafting is nice because you can get some very strong signals from other players early on. If you see a gold card (that isn't total crap) go all the way around, it's a fair bet nobody's in that guild, and you can start grabbing mono-colored cards in your guild with a reasonable expectation that your gold cards will come back. My last draft, this happened to an Orzhov Charm, and that immediately swung me into pure Orzhov from a potential black/white/blue build. I came in second to the Dimir player, and everyone else made a mess of things in the Boros/Gruul/Simic continuum. (Note, the best Dimir decks I've seen in limited are actually quite aggro. This guy came at me fast with Deathcult Rouge, Call of the Nightwing, and Hands of Binding, and he finished me off with Shadow Slice. It broke my stall/extort deck wide open in a way a couple of mediocre Boros and Gruul decks could not.)Show"Shut up!" one woman shouted at another.
"You shut up!" the second woman shouted back.

I think Dimir will actually be quite good once people figure out how to draft it. I haven't quite done that yet.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont. vermont is made of liberal freaks and cows. he's not a liberal. thus he is a cow

A cube draft tourney could be a neat follow-up to RYOS.One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.-

Too many magic friends moved out of town. Hard to get 6+ magic playing friends together these days. It still gets pulled out on some holidays, but not being used multiple times a week.Taking a break from the site.-

I heard rumors that they might, in the future (no time frame), include pack codes with paper cards you receive to allow you to upload them online.
I wouldn't have an excuse then XDFate is absurdly beautiful. 運命に弄ばれる

I don't see why they would do that personally. They'd lose money I would think.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

Your rumors appear to have gotten truncated in the telling. Perhaps you are referring to this?

I think it would break the randomization of the packs if they had to include a code with each one that accurately marked each pack for what cards were inside. I suppose there's a way to do it via computer, but I feel like that'd be easily game-able.
And yeah, financially, they'd lose a ton of money if they did that.green shirt thursdays
