Luck and persistence. Also, is that why I saw that your best took 831 sec?

No, my best one was when I was forced away from the computer for a couple of minutes. Apparently having any sort of break helps?
I guess. My best one occurred right after I woke up, on maybe the 3rd or 4th try. I think the key, at least for me, was not psyching myself out, and at the time was was too sleepy to do so.

I will accept late lists this round, as I had company and didn't post the challenge last night anyway.

Challenge 4

Sorry about the lateness, guys, I'll make this quick. For this challenge, I will PM you each a list of ten obscure words, along with their definitions. Your goal is to create an alternate definition for the word that sounds plausible enough to fool my judges.

However, there is a catch. Your definition must begin with the same letter as the first letter of the real definition, barring articles or numbers.

As an example, if the word "apple" was defined as "a
r
ed fruit which grows on trees," your definition would have to begin with the letter "r."

After you have submitted, I will send the 11 definitions to my judges, who will rank the definitions from 1-11. If you have the top definition, you will get 11 points; the second, 10 points, and so on. However, if you rank lower than the real definition, you score no points from that judge.

You will have until
Sunday night at 7pm EST
to submit your definitions. Please pay close attention to the format I request in the PM, it will make my life a lot easier. You may discuss with each other, but please do not post about the words or contact non-players about the challenge, you never know who my judges are!

I will now begin to send your definitions to the judges. They will have 24 hours to do their Judging thing. Results will come as soon as possible. Tuesday's challenge and List deadline will be delayed until 24 hours after the results are posted.

Temple of Fate 4

Welcome back. Four players have been saved by their challenge performance: Ser Arthur Dayne, Twistedspoon, Drench and TheBadOne. Now, each of them will save one player. Their lists will be consulted, and the player highest on their list who is not already safe will be saved. The last player will be eliminated, and will become the first member of the jury. Let's begin!

First, Ser Arthur Dayne saves:

Cybele, I am sorry, but you have met your fate. You may have one post to say your goodbyes, then please leave the temple area. In the event that you disappear before the final vote, you may send a List now to choose the winner.

Round 5

Players, you have until 7pm EST on Tuesday to send me your new lists from 1-7. When you send your list, please answer the following questions as well:

  1. How did you choose to rank the players on this list?
  2. Who moved the most on your list and why?
  3. How do the eliminations of SoraAdvent and Cybele affect your play this round?
  4. Who do you think is the weakest player left in the game?
  5. Do you think you would be likely to get Cybele's vote on the jury? Why?
  6. (If applicable): Why do you think someone saved you in the Temple of Fate? Did you expect someone else to?
  7. (If applicable): Are you happy about who you saved in the Temple of Fate? Or would you rather have saved someone else?
