I was kinda confused by the Mel scene. She went on about lambs and knives, and then she just bled him a little.-

God yes. PRETTY DAMN GOOD. I mean, I didn't expect it, but the first time I saw her undress I was like WHOA DAYUMMMMMMM.In post 2070, Iecerint wrote:

Feel kinda bad for Robb. I mean, the lannisters won't have a king now... but it's not cuz of Robb, and he'll die by choking on something maybe. Oh well.
I do like the other two names.
Glad I didn't see a torture scene this time.
Also I felt that stab from Sam was a bit cheap. I think he should have done more to kill that monster but it really dropped it to it's knees xD-

That was a lot of storylines absent from this episode. Robb and the Tullys, Jon, Jaime and Brienne, Bran, Theon, Littlefinger...
With that said, I really liked the episode. The storylines included blended very well, especially the contrast between Sansa and Dany. Arya and the Hound were great, and the awkwardness in King's Landing was really good acting by everyone.
Daario needs more blue beard. xD (No, I liked the change.)
A two-week wait. Boo!-

Wait, what? Why two weeks?
Dany is somewhat cocky at this point, but look at her recent exploits. Took out the sorcerer town, took out the slaver town and gained 8k free soldiers, and just again gained another 2 and a leader with a crush.
Not too worried about the Red Priestess. It's one thing to "birth" a shadow assassin creature, another to kill a few leeches. Although anyone that thinks in the end Gendry isn't destined for death with lots of blood has obviously not been watching the Red Priestess storyline.
It makes my heart glad that Cercei is all bent about Jamie being gone, when he may no longer be "hot for sister" when he returns. (I know it's unlikely, but I see the chemistry built on the respect Jamie and Brianna are developing for each other).
Tywin also brings out mixed emotions. He's the titular head of the Stark's enemies, but he's the only thing keeping the insane Lannisters from imploding. I can't see him allowing Joffrey to get too much bigger, on the off-chance he develops a base of support on his own. I know the prior episode showed Tywin having Joffrey well in hand, but still.I will haveLimited Accesson weekends.-

I think people are pointing out that the show has a history of knocking down characters that are doing well, re: Dany.-

I was oh so happy with the House Reyne backstory being brought up. My minor nitpick is that I seem to recall Cersei saying that the Reynes revolted against her father Tywin, when in the books the rebellion is further back--they rebel against Tytos Lannister, Tywin's father. Still, Tywinisthe one to stomp out the rebellion, andThe Rains of Castamereis a 'dialog' between him and the Red Lion of House Reyne (the Reyne coat of arms being a red lion--"a cat of a different coat" compared to the Lannister golden lion).
And all through that narration, the rose and the lioness smiling at the assembly like they were chatting amiably. ^__^ This episode had so many great lines and deliveries.-

Cersei hasn't had a lot of strong moments this season, so her scene with Margaery stood out.-

Iec, on the Gendry/Red Priestess front, I got the impression that Davos argued with Stannis saying that the Red God wasn't powerful enough to warrant killing an innocent. That swayed Stannis enough to tell the Red Priestess to not kill Gendry without proving that it will work. So instead of killing him, she's leeching him to show that a little Kings blood can do 'this', therefore a lot of kings blood can do 'more'.
Yes, my opinion is definitely informed by my having read the books, but I think it's still interpretable from the show.
Also, on the Obsidian Dagger front, I think it was destroyed when it destroyed the white walker.-

She did it because there was obviously an off-screen scene between Stannis/Mel/Davos. That's why she said, "Davos wants to see proof of a king's blood," and they do this instead. In post 2075, Iecerint wrote:I was kinda confused by the Mel scene.
