After being silent for some time, Nightson finally speaks, and as a result his life-support system will not be shut down. Yet.

However, there is a more serious problem for those still alive on the bridge. Among the systems badly damaged by the Gorillas' initial assualt on the

SS Simian

was the Ship's power plant. It is working intermittently, but can't keep going indefinitely without regular periods of down-time. The Ship's computer is controlling the down-time: if it detects a lack of activity on the bridge, it will shut down to conserve energy.

At this time, there has been no significant activity on the bridge for over 60 Monkey hours*. The computer has thus commenced power shut-down procedures, which can only be halted by a substantial increase in activity.

As much as I hate to say it, I was actually kind of hoping Nightson would get modkilled (so long as we learned his alignment and it didn't end day). Seeing as Thok is a sane Cop and there are 10 players alive, even if Nightson is a Gorilla, we would probably benefit percentage-wise by knocking our numbers down to 9 (we will still have 4 lynches), and since the number of uninvestigated players would have decreased from 6 to 5 (although I would almost consider it from 5 to 4, since I believe dahen's crumb), our chances of lynching scum would have risen that much. And if he is a Space Monkey, good riddance.

anything at all

about how dumb it is to just lynch somebody when:

A.) They have promised to make a post
B.) Deadline is 6 days away (i.e. we don't need to lynch him right

now

C.) The last time town decided to stop discussing and instead focusing on lynching (see: Masterchief), that didn't exactly work out for us very well
D.) Nobody is even giving reasons for their votes anymore, which in turn lessens the accountability we could possibly pressure on people if they are mislynching

I don't see how you can honestly read the game up to this point and still somehow hold the position that we should just be bandwagoning somebody on Day Five when it certainly hasn't worked for us any other time during the game. The only good bandwagon we had (on CES) was still largely uninformative so far as suspicions go simply because nobody bothered to discuss anything.

I'm still not very happy with Fritz, but I still find StD+Nightson far more likely. StD, do you have anything to say for yourself? You've jumped around, saying that you had just a gut instinct on Fritz, and you really haven't done much else today.

Nightson, to me, seems to be the epitome of lurker. My suspicion is that he is not posting because he knows that we won't lynch merely for inactivity at this point.

Nightson has been sick lately, and has not been up to reading games. I talk to him in ScumChat, and I know this as fact (insomuch as I assume he would not lie to me in out-of-game circumstances).

I am not too pleased with his lack of posting lately either, but realize that this is true of

all

of his games, not simply this one. His posts on the forum as a whole have jumped from the 17th, to no posts until the 20th, to no posts until the 23rd (yesterday), when he offered to make a large post.

This isn't to say Nightson isn't scum, but I don't believe he is scum for the reason you are presenting.

Yes I am sick (you can see a picture of the weird cyst on my arm that is now red and yellow if you want proof, or the five bottles of pills I'm now taking) and coupled with being busy with school I find my time for mafia to be severely curtailed. I don't want to have to ask for replacement because I know there's precious few replacements to be had since the crashes. But my contributions are going to have to be when I have time and when I'm coherent enough to post.

Tonight I'm feeling decent so I think I can manage to post in at least a few games.

Nightson, tell me in explicit detail what you think of Glork's responses to my attacks.

The don't seem that scummy to me so he's probably scum. Seriously, I'm horrible at reading Glork, when I think he's sure to me mafia he's town and when I'm convinced of his townieness he turns up scum. So with that grain of salt, I'd say the one thing that did strike me as kind of scummy was the way he talks about the possibility of you being scum. (Not because you can't be scum but because he seems to want to cast suspicion on you without actually taking a stand on it)

That's not terribly big post but I'm afraid I don't have a great deal more to contribute right now. I think that there's a lot of information that we simply don't have because the first three days were spent with everyone thinking they were scum, then with the MC lynch we didn't learn much because MC was such an easy lynch.

However Thok's investigation results make up for the information lost at least partly.

I'm a little sketchy on the number crunching (head is starting to hurt again) but even with three scum left we would need two straight mislynches to lose. With only five candidates to choose from, it seems unlikely hat we'll hit the only two townies among the five unconfirmed. Hopefully of course, we'll have no mislynches.

Right now I'm actually leaning towards fritz likely being scum. I'll review his posts and then probably make a vote.
