I actually think this should definitely happen anyway, ESPECIALLY if people think that a game not filling is IN ANY WAY connected to it's sign-ups being buried in the subforum. also, if people enter Mish Mash looking for a new game to join, they'll MOST LIKELY read this thread to see what's new, and if the OP were updated or if they just skim recent posts, they should find a Mod's post directing them to sign-ups (and if the Mod doesn't post here then BY GOLLY LOL that's their issue)
I wish to point out preemptively that this is IN NO WAY an attack on izak, it's just a suggestion and an extrapolation on a possible solution...apparently SKrew thinks I'm being passive aggressive when this was not intended at all

To be fair, izak PM'd me saying he received complaints about too many threads. That's why I stopped doing crossover threads, but at the time he said he wasn't going to
The massive number of RPG threads annoy me somewhat, but they haven't been too difficult to skip (it just takes a little more time to open up all the threads I want to look at).
Still agree that there shouldn't be 10+ threads for a single game though.

Sure, one would say that it's not worth the effort for some games especially if they flake, but what if we had an "incubation period" of 2 to 4 weeks?
Are you suggesting we give individual games their own forums? That's... radical. The issue, of course, is that only admins can create subforums, and I am most definitely not an admin. Also, game mods would presumably need proper mod powers within their subforum, which would necessitate extra usergroups. So nice idea, but I don't think it's workable.

I'd be in for that.

In the process of creating a game to mod, we will see what it holds.
Don't clutter up the thread with useful discussion that accomplishes the purpose of the thread or a rule will be created that you can't create more than 3 posts on a single topic.

I don't want to interrupt games which are already going. The rule is to stop this happening again in the future.
I meant the Harry Potter ones, which appear to still be in signups.
That's Maestro's decision. If a game is in signups it is (or at least, should be) already thoroughly planned out, and without knowing exactly how Maestro plans to run it I can't make a definitive call on it.
(Mostly) on hiatus until further notice. Planet MafiaScum 2 will be modded by Inspi and JDGA - go check it out!
I'll confer with M on the matter. IMO this is one of those things that just isn't worth arguing about. Izak is right about the clutter and 20+ threads is a lot. It's likely we'll set up QTs of some sort. Everyone
The problem with QuickTopics is that they are a system of convenience and not of utility. They simply do not have the same useful functions that a MafiaScum thread would have. I personally find reading back in a QuickTopic to be frustrating.

^That may be plausible. I'll speak with M about it. As it stands right now, the only problem I could see with that is people making new accounts or w/e. Which is more of a nuisance than an actual problem.
Well there is one thing that I do semi care about(read as: affect me somewhat) that was stated in these last few pages: The OP of this thread can get woefully behind. If you're not keeping up with thread as it is, often potential games or ones in signups can get missed unless you scour through the Mish Mash forum itself. Not just because of the RPG threads, there are enough other ones that make it problematic as well. I do think that if the OP got updated more often, games in signups wouldn't have to worry about being buried in ongoing things.

this is the best idea. We could even occupy the chess forum(It's almost dead) if the mods don't want to create a new place. Just move the threads there and rename the place to special games or something.

Hello, I can set-up another forum for you guys and whatnot - it'd take MAYBE an hour and a half of work on my part. Then you can link to the forum on the site, so it's still an on-site game, so anyone who wants to watch can, and can find the forum easily etc.
