kmd and I had quite the nailbiter going on in the #3/4 game. He was up 4-5 going into sunday. My 4 were K, QS, ERA, and Whip. We were tied in S and he had all the hitting categories.
I had 6 starting pitchers on sunday and I sat them all rather than risk losing my slim lead on WHIP (and maybe ERA too). KMD had only 1 starting pitcher pitching so it was still a risk I could lose WHIP if his pitcher had a steller game. I was way behind on RBI, but relatively close in the other hitting categories. Couldn't catch up in runs, didn't hit any HR's, 1 SB was all that was needed to tie the category and I couldn't get that either. Neither one of us got a save to break the tie there either. It came down to the final games after 10PM where I was just barely able to steal OBP at the last minute by .001 to grab 3rd place. Great final matchup for the season. Congrats LL on pretty much dominating both leagues this year.-

Thanks guys, it's definitely been a strong fantasy season for me - Freddie Freeman seems to be the lucky mascot as I own him in all three leagues I won last night and also have him in the auction league. It's nice when you get excited about someone and it actually pans out. Werth and Iwakuma were probably still better picks for me value-wise but it's been great owning Freeman this year.
I did not see your matchup was that close, Rhinox, pretty incredible. I guess he would have won if it was a tie based on seeding too!If ya smell what The Locke is cookin'!

Now, Locke, could you go ahead an bench all your guys in the Keeper league?
This 7 point lead is a bit preposterous...Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

I think you can cut it down a bit without me benching everyone. It's the .354 team OBP that's really preposterous. I guess this is what happens when you own Votto and Trout. Your ERA is just as preposterous, though. If ya smell what The Locke is cookin'!

I started scoping guys on the wire a couple weeks ago and I think I've got a solid selection of guys.
I have to find my notes, but I think I lucked into a couple guys on more than one Top 10 keeper list. Definitely had a 3 or 4 on Top 20 lists.
The only one I was debating was Braun, but that ~$60 price tag is sketch.-

I don't think they update that until they update the standings as well, so it's the next morning. Up to that point it's just whatever you were on at the start of the previous day. I thought you either did what Gorc said, or you just weren't going to be here over the weekend and wanted to get as many starts in as possible! It was pretty close to you being able to start all those guys tonight anyway. If ya smell what The Locke is cookin'!

so. i'm up 8 points in my 14 team money league (that LL is still co-manager for). It's actually very close in many categories, so the 8 points could easily evaporate if i'm not careful (for example, I was 4 points up as of this afternoon). I'm shedding all my players I've had this season to add pitchers (still have 40 innings i can pitch). My second place opponent is 11 Ks ahead of me and I have 5 pitchers scheduled for a start tomorrow. I texted him to say that I'm 11 Ks back and starting five, so it'll all come down tomorrow in hopes that he panics and picks up terrible pitchers to try and fend off a K challenge. I have no intention of starting the pitchers I picked up (though they were the best on the FA pool for tomorrow). Is this bad sportsmanship?.-

Yeah, you manage your team in whatever way you think gives you the best chance of winning. If that includes pressuring other managers into making moves that could damage their chances, go for it. You can always say you looked at the standings and decided it wasn't worth the risk but wanted to have the option. You never know, some other team could have a couple of shutouts in the early games and you decide you do need to start some of them.If ya smell what The Locke is cookin'!

As a Red Sox fan, I am completely in love with the fact that we're likely to face someone's #2 or #3 pitcher in Game 1 of the DS.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! Guilty conscience, fear of death? Check! Check! Check!

yeah. i like this system. it really SHOULD be a big thing to win your division.
my idea was to expand to two wild cards a league, but the 1st wild card would be in a double elimination series and the 2nd wild card would be in a single elim series. In other words, the first wild card would only need to win one, but the second place team would need to win two. but they didn't ask me, strangely enough..-

As a tribe fan, I love that TB and Texas both threw their best pitchers today, and will likely use their 2nd best pitchers tomorrow, leaving a 3rd best pitcher for the WC game. But in 1 game, anything can happen.
All the aces pitched today (Moore, Darvish, Jiminez), meaning whoever wins the WC can pitch their ace game 1 on friday on a normal 4 days rest.In post 997, AGar wrote:As a Red Sox fan, I am completely in love with the fact that we're likely to face someone's #2 or #3 pitcher in Game 1 of the DS.
I'll be at the WC game on wednesday. I both tickets when they went on sale last monday. At that point tribe was still a game behind TB with 4 to play, and TB had the tiebreaker - so with the tribe needing to win out and have TB lose 2 I was thinking no way was the game actually going to be in cleveland this week but I'm happy I was wrong!
In fantasy news, I MIGHT have done enough to pass agar for 2nd place in the auction league on the last day of the season
