Nominate serrapaldin and the currently ongoing Con Mafia for Best Mechanic / Mutation.

Because of the mechanic allowing the game to be discussed outside of it by anyone and everyone, this game has become the talk of the site. Group scumhunting, trolling, mild identity theft, misleading chats. This game has had it all already... and it's not even close to over.

It would be against the spirit of this game to wait until it's over to nominate it.
Hey that means I can post my scumreads here. :P Awesome!

A couple of times now, if you count things like Always On.

I'm not counter-nomming, but it's not a new mechanic.

Always On is different in that the free communication was restricted to the players in the game. I think /b/mafia or whatever it was called is the closest spiritual successor to Con Mafia.

/b/ had it, Team Mafia had it to an extent... I think there was another one.

Seems like a better fit for Most Enjoyable, but that nom should probably actually wait until the game is over...

Almost No Rules Mafia would be closer, actually. It had the public MD thread and everything.

Oh, the game's not over? Yeah, I understand the game allows discussion of itself in public, but we don't take nominations unless the game is over.

2nd
the scum team of SpyParty.

They played to their outs perfectly--the town had a problem with lurking and, instead of drumming up activity, they lurked double hard to make sure the game was at the bottom of the subforum--helping unconsciously make players forget the game existed! If they had actually tried to defend themselves, well the very powerful town(composed of such distinguished players as LadyLambdadelta, ChannelDelibird, and Untrod Tripod) would have probably straight won--they already suspected the scumteam as being composed of BeastCharizard and RedCayote.
Natirasha is just a vestige, it's Contessa now.

Oh, don't forget their strategy of posting nothing for 5 straight days, ignoring prods and yet somehow not getting replaced.

That's genius in my book.

Edit: Did I mention they did all of this in lylo, while the 2 active town players had both scum pegged? Truly an astounding victory, their play is unparalleled.

My years of playing Magic the Gathering have taught me these immortal words, "play to your outs". If your out is everyone else forgetting the game existed, well, good fucking job on accomplishing that goal.

LLD--no matter how you feel about the game and its outcome, please do not use this thread to make sarcastic nominations. Keep that kind of discussion about the game elsewhere, there's no need to bring it here.

What does "play to your outs" mean?
"SAULRES you are THE man! Fav mod eva, no contest!" - Bert; "Saulres is a fantastic mod, if he is running a game everyone needs to join it." - FuDuzn

the whole game is dumb and we don't know why we're good at it and nobody knows what is going on and we're all going to have to accept that

I have literally never had to go to a subforum to find a game. Ok maybe back like five years ago.

Nominate Varsoon for Most Memorable Event for Mini 1484: Pick Your Partners.

Basically, what happened was that he "quoted" a scumslip. The scum player thought he actually slipped and self-hammered.

Players shouldn't be quoting and changing the words like that anyway as it's really crappy thing to do so I don't think it deserves it
