The high point of this game for me was the player list. It was an enjoyable and challenging group of players, many of whom I didn't know prior to game start or replace-in. I would gladly play another game with this group.-

Would you have returned guilty? That isn't very typical. In post 1647, SpyreX wrote:The only thing late I was really concerned with (after Godfather gate started up) was Peabody actually inspecting me.
In fairness, I fully intended to lynch you after we lynched the "last scum." Again, a two scum setup versus an SK and this much Town power isn't very typical. In post 1647, SpyreX wrote:But, Yates did a good job for me on the "SK's will return clear, so check someone else" as well as somehow leading into a Ffery lynch.
We were beaten by the setup, fair and square.Coming soon: 50 Shades of Null

We also mislynched a ton of obvtown. I'm not sure town would have salvaged this if the last day had been 2-1-1 though I think CTD's plan was as good as it could get for that scenario. In post 1653, Yates wrote:We were beaten by the setup, fair and square.-

Its not outside of the realms of what I'd expect. Normally i see either immunity from investigations or kills. Rarely both. Sometimes neither.Would you have returned guilty? That isn't very typical.
The only side, and even then its a stretch, beaten by the setup was the scum. Yous guys got beat by setupIn fairness, I fully intended to lynch you after we lynched the "last scum." Again, a two scum setup versus an SK and this much Town power isn't very typical.
We were beaten by the setup, fair and square.speculation.
I still think that the miller lynch was bad, ABR's lynch was really bad after SK's part in that role and FFery even with spec still hurts the head. Just think, if ffery had lied, the world would have been much better.-

Given the data I had available and my assumptions about the game: 3 scum to start and possibly no doctor due to my role, this was one of very few occasions in mafia games where I felt leaving another player's assumption or gambit untouched was a bad idea. Night 4 might have worked out differently if I had kept quiet about not being the doc, but I doubt it.
I usually value reads over setup spec and prefer to lynch the scummiest looking player, end of story. At the point where I needed to find a lynch that was better than my own, I came up empty. My last post pre-haiku was the best post I made on day 4.-

Like I said, SpyreX didn't have investigation immunity. I went strictly off the definitions on the mafiawiki page (where SKs are by no means guaranteed to show up not guilty) and the suggestions of my reviewers, who basically told me to choose from NK-immunity or investigation-immunity.In post 1653, Yates wrote:

I disagree. You can't derp your way to a win as SK against a town this strong. Spyrex scumhunted really well, managed to thwart the early suspicion on himself and overall played a very clean game. He was most certainly up to the task and earned this win fully in spite of setup gripes. In post 1653, Yates wrote:We were beaten by the setup, fair and square.
It's also not right to blame this loss on set-up spec. We were in a situation with 5 townies looking very town and an SK looking equally town. What's a town supposed to do if not speculate on the set-up? Keep in mind that the only way we can catch Spyrex in this situationisset-up spec! It's not the godfather spec that sunk us, it's the lack of 2-scum spec. I saw Slaxx do just that in the dead QT, so it was pretty clearly a case of town collectively misjudging gamestate.
Ultimately, this was a game where the majority of players did really well. And when two factions play really well (Spyrex and the town in this case), it comes down to subtleties, like the ABR lynch (it's highly unusual for a D2 mislynch to have such far reaching consequences). It also goes without saying that losing after doing well stings, but sometimes that's just the way the cards fall.
This game was a blast.Mgm laughed nervously, his cheeks flushing in the faintest of blushes. "Patrick... I only wanted to be with you... that's why I put the game to night, so Glork would get killed." - the heartwarming conclusion of Face to Face Mafia-

Don't beat yourself up, Grim. Despite my phases of stink-eye on you, I thought you played a really pro-town game for the majority of the game. As you can tell from my PM to Pitoli, I had you pegged as likely vanilla and less likely scum than Garmr/Fferylt going into the night of your death.
The ABR lynch was a failure the town as a whole was responsible for. At least you took the initiative. If you want to improve your game, I suggest you analyze my case against Plum and her response to it, as well as the post by Empire that bamboozled you, as instances of play that are really quite easy for scum to fabricate.Mgm laughed nervously, his cheeks flushing in the faintest of blushes. I liked the SK lynch and your posts had no prior influence on me. So you're not alone. In post 1659, Grimgroove wrote:I take credit for that ABR-lynch
Oh wait, nobody liked it .
So my only influence in the game was to contribute to its biggest mistake?
ABR replacing in and getting lynched right away made me sad though.-
