-20 players will compete, forming teams for some challenges while others are individual.
-Each round will involve the following:
---A challenge to go along with the story of the PokeOcalypse. Some may involve battling gym leaders, while others may involve taking on the nefarious Team Mortem, who are trying to unite the Four Rings of the Apocalypse.
---Before each challenge, the Pokemon that can be obtained in the area will be presented to the players, and the players must each rank those Pokemon in order of preference. Pokemon will be given out in order of challenge placement, and only one Pokemon can be won by each player per challenge.
---After every challenge, Pokemon distribution will be announced, and that round's method for elimination will commence.
---95% of the time, rounds with an odd number of players will be individual challenges, and the top 2 players will become team captains for the next round. However, the bottom 2 players are sent into an elimination battle on Pokemon Showdown using any Pokemon they currently have.
---Rounds with an even number of players will usually be team challenges, with the 2 teams chosen by team captains. The winning team not only gets their first pick of Pokemon for the round, but the winning captain also must choose 2 players from the losing team to send into an elimination battle.
---Almost anything is fair game in elimination battles: abilities, items, TMs, etc. However, Pokemon may only know moves that they would naturally know by level up at their current levels.
---Anything banned by Smogon is banned.
---On the first round, all Pokemon will be at Level 5. For each round after that, all Pokemon increase by 3 levels per round, while all Pokemon will jump to Level 100 at the Pokemon League.
---Elimination battles on Pokemon Showdown will have a deadline of 24-48 hours, and a mock battle will be conducted in the case that the players can't both be online at the same time. During this deadline, other matters can be carried out, namely team choosing for the next round and Pokemon selection for the next round.
---I've tried my best to make sure no challenges will be based on luck or WIFOM, which means that many of them will be semi-live, but they will have forgiving deadlines. Live challenges are a pain, and will most likely only be used for challenges where only some team members compete.

Still a couple more /pre-ins left! Pre-ins get to pick their starter Pokemon first so that's pretty cool and stuff!

All /pre-ins are filled, but there are still 14 slots open for when signups go up in mid-late January. For future reference, signups will be first come, first serve, and starter Pokemon will be claimed in-thread until all 20 spots are filled. I'm looking forward to running this game, and I hope everyone is ready to catch 'em all (except not really cause that would take forever)

Nope, none would really make sense in the game plot-wise, but all non-legendary Pokemon excluding Ditto and Castform are included.

Aw no cast form? But cast form sucks for me I wonder if I'll get my actually best team. Actually I'm gonna get a combo of all of my teams. Yep that'll work

Yeah, I figured Ditto and Castform would be the only Pokemon that don't have that many redeeming qualities to begin with, don't evolve, and are both man-made, so it's hard to fit them into the game somewhere. But just win all the challenges and you'll get first pick of Pokemon each time! All players in the finale will each have a total of 22 Pokemon, so people can have pretty diverse selections, but it'll be hard to get a bunch of OU mons.

Good question, two Eevee have been offered as starter Pokemon as well! (It was the rival's starter in Yellow, and the starter for XD: Gale of Darkness so yay!)

(sidenote: all weird evolutionary methods have been changed to an appropriate level relative to the evolution's stats)

Because Blaziken is banned (namely because speed boost), does that mean anyone who runs it HAS to use Blaze, and without the mega stone (which gives Blaziken speed boost AGAIN, along with better stats)?

Yep, Blaziken must run Blaze.

I'm going to throw this out there, despite not knowing the mechanics - Mega Evolutions (save a few), aren't broken when you're playing other people. They either serve an entirely different purpose (ex. Mega Absol, Mega Gengar), or do slightly more/less than they would with a Life Orb (ex. MegaChomp, MegaGyara) - also, lack of a non-Mega Stone means lack of a good item, making them even weaker.

Hmmm, that's very true, actually. I had neglected the fact that megas can't have any other held item, so that makes things balance out, especially since no items are off limits from the beginning. In that case, all megas that aren't banned by smogon should be fair game.

So, for anyone who's not currently aware of the current Mega Ban (aka Ubers Tier) list, it goes as follows:

* Mewtonitw X & Y
* Blazikenite

Gengarite is currently under discussion, and Kangaskhanite is probably soon to follow.
