it just happened again... i'm not sure if it happened multiple times, or if it just took a long time to recover, but it was like 30 minutes i think...

Agreed with Flay.

(could it have something to do with someone posting several very long scumchat posts?)

ding.
Now, life is civilized. Once there was a city, barbaric in its ways. Yet, they were an empire. But even before that, they were two brothers. They fought. Remus said ow, and it all began.

I've seen many different CPU quota issues today. Nothing stands out as a possible cause. I'm running optimization on the tables in the hopes that it will help a little...

ok, so it's not a CPU Quota error, but a couple of times while navagating i've gotten a HTTP 500 error, and a "cannot display webpage" error a couple of times today... it only affected mafiascum.net as other webpages were working fine... and in both Avant Browser & IE 7? (whatever the latest version is)

I got that a few minutes ago too, thought it was a prelude to CPU error but it cleared itself up in about 7-8 minutes (granted, I stopped checking so it may have evolved into one).

That's the database server (or the site server) being down temporarily. Nothing to do with the CPU. Usually means they're working on something.

Wow... CPU quota errors followed by over 15 minutes of blank pages and blank pages alone... Did we break the site with marathon day?

Well, I got the page again last night. Admittedly, it's the first time I've seen it since the move, but I guess Mafiascum is too much of a force for even Bluehost's high CPU server to mess with.

Huh. We've had one each of the past three nights, and the logs are... well, it's different than before, I'll leave it at that until I talk to jeep.

For some reason, when I try to access the site through Opera, the error page shows up and does not go away...but I switched to Netscape and it's working perfectly right now.
I'm less likely to check MS on weekends than on weekdays. If I've disappeared on a weekend, it's normal.

Limited access for a week or so. I can read and post, but don't expect a lot.

Got one yesterday afternoon/evening for a very short time; first one in at least a couple of weeks.

Also, just about three minutes ago I got the "white page of no information", which just says Done. in the status bar and contains no info whatsoever. This one might be a firewall/page caching issue for me personally, but you may want to check the logs anyway.
