Mafia could have also made a kill and it was prevented somehow, but, yes, those are the possibilities.

They know he will either kill himself by trying to protect scum or use his power to confirm a townie... but that would probably get him lynched D2.

This struck me as veeeery weird.

Context: Espeo made his "bah" post after being lynched. Elyse then asks if he is scum.

Elyse is experienced enough to know Espeo can't answer this question. Was she just trying to appear more town?

Scum would benefit from him dying, they would suffer from him living and confirming someone, even if he died thereafter.
