Yes! While I won't go so far as to say it was a bad idea, it went down pretty terribly last time. Does that mean extra players are replacements or will it be seeded or something? I don't know. But NPCs won't be allowed to join.

As long as I'm not killed before my second turn I'd be interested.

I'd play, but I really don't think that it would go very well.

I see two glaring problems with a twenty player game and believe that the single new rule should solve both to the satisfaction of every faction.

I'm guessing you'd have to increase how many neutrals the shadows need to kill.

And Wraith would be even more ridiculous.

We have results from last time, so we could use those for seeding.

My fortune cookie told me to take that chance I've been thinking of, so here are the rules to a Big Brother UK sort of game that I've been thinking of. Essentially, it's a variation of the Coin Game which mallowgeno popularized:
1. Each Round begins with a Nomination Phase, during this Phase, each player must PM the names of two other players they wish to nominate for elimination. The Nomination Phase lasts 48 hours. If a player fails to nominate within that time, they will incur two self-nominations.
2. After the 48 hours of the Nomination Phase has passed, I will announce the nominees. At least the two players receiving the most nominations will be nominated for elimination; however, more may be nominated if there are ties for the second most amount of nominations.
3. The Round progresses into the Elimination Phase. Nominated players will have 48 hours to spend Staying Power in hopes that they may stay in the game. Each player begins with 20 Staying Power. The player who spends the least amount of Staying Power will be eliminated from the game. If a tie occurs, players will be given an extension to spend more Staying Power. Staying Power totals, as well as how much was spent, will remain secret until the end of the game, but no illegal expenditures will be counted.
4. The Round concludes with a player's elimination, and a new Round begins. Play continues in this fashion until the allotted number of Rounds passes, after which the Finale will occur. The player with the most Staying Power at this time will win the game.
5. Players are permitted to talk publicly and privately with one another at all times, about all things pertaining to this game.
Thoughts? Any additions/clarifications that need to be made? Ideally I'd like to run the first game with 9 Rounds and 12-14 players, without any twists. If I got more or less interest the amount of Staying Power would go up or down accordingly.

I'd think you'd want more staying power, and if you're trying to imitate BBUK maybe have the "public" vote on things?

I think a public vote would be interesting, but would take a lot of strategy out of it. Maybe a few challenges where losers get post restrictions or winners get a couple extra Staying Points would liven things up more, too.

I like a public vote; after all, BBUK isn't really a game of strategy so much as popularity, but I feel such a mechanic on MS is just begging for drama, trolling, and shenanigans.

Also, I intentionally made the amount of Staying Power low because unlike the coin game, not all players are going to be in every elimination phase, so it doesn't really need the inflated coin amounts. My tentative formula is (Number of Rounds Including Finale x Number of Players Guaranteed to be Nominated) so this one was 10x2=20.

Which I guess brings me to the point that yeah, I would in future iterations like to try twists such as more people automatically up, double evictions, immunity challenges, etc. But I'd like a first runthrough to keep it to the basic mechanic. One idea I did think about including in the most basic edition was allowing non-nominated players to spend Staying Power on nominees as to help them stay in, y/n?

And the issue is...

RE: Spending staying power, I think that would add more social strategy but I don't know how strong the compulsion would be to actually to do in-game. Just something that'd have to be tested one way or the other.

If there's a public vote, what stops the nominees from just spamming everyone to get their votes?

The fact that I probably end up being yelled at.

I'm hesitant with a public vote because in a certain restricted-access forum I held a popularity poll and the voting went horribly awry due to some committed trolls on this site. :/

Plus if Staying Power switched to public vote it really would truly become a popularity contest and there's not really any fun in that.
