I made a few changes and I'm LOVING THE NEW DECK

Had some luck in Arena today with prize packs, decided to try and put together the shell of a Paladin control deck:

-1 Demolisher
+1 Harvest Golem

+1 Abomination
-1 Boulderfist Ogre

+1 Avenging Wrath
-1 Gelbin Mekkatorque

Deck has been working a lot better, for some reason. Avenging Wrath is just a wipeout most times. And I think Abomination being another combo board wipe with Equality is really good... and Harvest Golem is able to survive Equality + Wild Pyromancer combos and maintain board control. It's not perfect, obviously, but I'm digging the way it's going. I think if I had Ragnaros, Cairne, and maybe Sword of Justice I'd be good

more 12-2 arena goodies. deck was actually not very good for a rogue deck. no deadly poisons, no scrubs, one backstab. Deck turned out to be very very tempo-y.

opened millhouse manastorm for the troubles meaning last three legendaries have been mukla(x2) and millhouse in addition to having opened two king krushes as two of the first three legendaries I opened ever.

crafted rag and ysera and have dust for 1.5 legendaries atm.

I think I'll try to craft cairne and nat pagle(which will almost certainly get nerfed and then full dust value yay!) then probably try to grind some ranked sometime as either druid or priest.

@Reck: Remove Holy Light. Heal is bad and Holy Light is no exception.
If you like to use your hero power a lot I don't really understand why you are playing Wild Pyromancer. You have 10 spells and out of those 10 only 4-6 are usable with Pyromancer. Equality Pyromancer isn't the best thing in the world.
Add more Blessing of kings. One of the best cards in Pala.
Twilight Drake should be out. Or at the very least add a Divine Favor for good card draw.
I also feel that Repentance and the secret that spawns a 2/1 when opponent attacks are good cards fr pala.

ek0p's Paladin deck looks a hell of a lot like the one I scrambled together last night:

- He's running Sunfury Protector instead of Defender of Argus (which I had discussed swapping out anyway)
- He has more legendaries than me so that's obviously a big difference
- He has three Giants in his deck... I get the Mountain Giant, Sea Giant seems odd... I guess he takes damage till he can play Sea Giant then heals himself back up

Mage seems pretty powerful. At least I've been doing pretty ok with my barely any cards.

Mirror Image is kinda ridiculous and scales with so many things.

Mage is probably the best basic deck to build (though I think the basic Paladin and basic Rogue cards are very good too)

Heal isn't bad. A card that only heals is bad. You heal when you are losing. If you are already losing healing won't do much for you.
Cards that heal you and do something else are good i.e. Lay on Hands.
Heal can keep you out of Aggro range, but only barely.
I see your points with Wild Pyro, but I still think there are other options.
You are probably right with Blessing of Kings. I'm biased about that card, because I've won and lost a lot of games because of that card.
Twilight Drake is fine if you get it out on turn 4. Otherwise it's a mediocre card. I'd play the 4 mana 4/3 that silences as battlecry instead of him.
As for Divine Favor: I'm also biased here:)) I've opened two of them and one gold and I tried them out and they aren't as bad as they seem, but they aren't good either.

I like how you've built your deck suited to your own taste. The only I strongly advocate removing is Holy Light.

A 4 mana 4/3 dies to way too many 2 mana creatures.


A card that only heals is not bad. You're placing value on that heal. 2 mana for 6 life is good, and you can use it to top off a minions health, too. Surviving against aggro decks is hard without heals to get me to that turn 6 sweet spot. I feel like you're talking about maybe a Pally aggro deck and are not considering how control decks work.

The only life total that matters is zero. Being lower on life doesn't mean someone is losing. It's all about keeping tempo and buying time

card draw. also if I'm planning on playing druid/priest mostly then I should generally have answers to big threats.

on the topic of legendaries in arena. I've found that since I've been doing better I've noticed I've gotten more legendaries. of course that's probably just a coincidence.

Vezok's tips are all good in arena. In arena life really doesn't matter that much, but it really does in constructed.

Sea giant isn't the one that's based on health, that's molten giant. Sea giant is based on how many minions are on the board.

The only reason mages are considered OP is because they require specific counterplay. Sure, a 4 health nuke on everything that you have out is nasty, but it's not that bad unless it kills 4+ minions. Just don't overplay stuff against them, leave a reserve of decent minions in your hand and you can win. Don't leave a ton of minions around going into their turn 6, especially don't leave a ton of minions around going into turn 7. You can just play 2/3 minions, and keep the rest in your hand unless they get rid of the minions you have out.
Of course, you do have to ignore all of this if your health gets low.

And I missed the holy light to stall aspect of reck's deck. That's nice.

Spellbreaker is okay, the silence is what you're going for. In quite a few cases you are essentially deleting all a cards value by silencing it. Even if you trade for a 2 drop you should've done good.

Also it deals with priest cheese decks that want to make enormous minions really fast. Other good cards for that are big game hunter, and tinkmaster overspark. You want to have something in your deck to deal with this sort of sillyness.

Kings is bad in constructed b/c it just makes big. Sure, maybe a recruit becoming a 5/5 can do it, but on every other minion you risk it getting whacked for 1 card and giving up card advantage.

How do you get Legendaries in arena? I got one. I've done over 30 arena runs.
My biggest winstreak is 7 or 8 wins (the one with the silver key and blue diamond) and I've done with a deck with mostly commons.

Luck. I've had two legendaries in one arena once. Also I had a streak like that as well.
