Dude. Arya kills a man in cold blood. Nothing happens. Psh.

I mean, admittedly the first episode is always a lot of introduction of characters, reestablishing motivations, etc. but it's hard to call that nothing.

Also, the Thenns were cool. Book Spoilery:
Glad they gave a little bit more stuff to grab on to up north than the books.

oberyn and arya stuff was the most interesting part. most was like re-establishing old plot lines, which is fine. oberyn's cool though, and arya killing dat guy was an awesome scene. love her and the hound.
are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?

Overall, the episode was good. Especially the Hound and Arya.

I thought the scene with Cersei and Jaime was very weak. She seemed totally out of character from how we've seen her behave on the show in the previous several seasons.

She's probably making those reasons up. I mean, she could be fucking her cousin for all we know.

She never gave the impression that her cousin was anything other than a Jaime surrogate AFAICR.

It's apparently not as jarring in the book because you don't get any Cersei POV, so Cersei being a bit of a bitch is just par for the course.

The new actor for Dario is better than before, definitely. Also, the cg has gotten a lot better over the series.

I loved it. The Arya/Hound scene was tremendous. I'd have liked to see a little more swordplay from Arya, as per the books. But the books have had her always practicing, whereas the show has not, so that was fair enough. The cold blooded way she kills Polliver was delicious, as was the hound's discussion of eating every chicken in this place.

Dany's scene with the dead slave girl was strong, I love that this series isn't shying away from dead children, really takes it up a notch.

Oberyn was excellent, as was Tyrion in all of his scenes, tragic little anti-hero that he is.

Cersei was perfectly in character, although it is jarring due to the fact that Jaime and Brienne have turned up significantly earlier than they did in the books.

Loving Jaime. His disillusionment is great.

Jon Snow's mini-trial was great, he's gaining the confidence he needs to have. And the scene with the Wildlings was good, it also helps reestablish that while we like Tormund and Ygritte, the wildlings south of the wall is still a bad idea.

I also loved how much the Queen of Thorns was interested in Brienne.

Oh, and that opening scene of Tywin with the sword and sheath, very powerful. "And we're done with the Starks for a while, who's next?"

Not enough Roose.

Tywin melting Ice was my favorite scene.

Am I the only one that doesn't like new Daario?

I didn't get any substance out of Daario in that one episode. I mostly was just confused by lack of hair.
