The game where knowledge is King, and lady luck is Queen!

Main Game

Each contestant will take turns rolling three 5-sided dice (code shown below) that will be used to determine the categories. They will then chose one of the categories based on what they rolled and answer a question. If the contestant answers correctly, the dollar value of the question is added to their score. If the contestant answers incorrectly, the other players can buzz in and steal the money if they are correct using a buzz code (explained below). Play then moves on to the next person.

Question Values

The value of each question is determined by the contestants roll.
- Singles are worth $50 (A, B, C)
- Doubles are worth $100 (A, B, B - A would be worth $50)
- Triples are worth $200 (A, A, A)

Jokers

If the contestant rolls a Joker, they can use it to match any rolled category and create a pair or triple to increase the value of the question. They can also substitute a Joker for a category that they didn't roll for $50 using one Joker or $100 using two Jokers (known as going off the board).

If the contestant rolls three Jokers, they can choose any of the categories in play, and the question will be worth $500. If the contestant is incorrect, however, the opponents cannot steal and the game continues as normal.

Winning the Game

Each game is played in full rounds, meaning each player guaranteed a turn at the start of every round. The first player to reach $500 at the end of the round wins the game. If multiple people are over $500 at the end of a round, the person with the higher score is the winner. If there is a tie, another round is played with only the tied players until it is decided who wins.

Additional Notes

- The code for rolling the dice:

Code: Select all

[dice]3d6[/dice]

- If a contestant answers their question wrong, the other contestants may steal using a buzz code ('ringing in'). If they know the answer, they may send me a PM that contains a number from 1-100 and their answer. I will then roll a dice to determine the correct number, and the player who is closest without going over rings in. If both players are over, then the player who is closest will ring in. The deadline for submitting buzz codes is 24 hours.

Categories in Play

Here are the categories that will be used for this game:
If you roll a 1 - Harry Potter Quotes (I will give you the very first line a character has spoken in the first book, you must give me the name of that character)
If you roll a 2 - Limerick Literature (The question will be in the form of a limerick. You must give me either the name of the book/series or the author)
If you roll a 3 - Board Games (Will be about games that received special recognition/awards in the Spiel des Jahres awards)
If you roll a 4 - Major Star Wars Battles
If you roll a 5 - The Periodic Table
If you roll a 6 - Joker

The winner of the game gets to choose between playing Sale of the Century or Lingo in the semifinals. There is no bonus round.

For $50, what is the name or author of this book/series?

The young man might seem very daft
Who floated downstream on a raft.
For travlin' with Jim,
Learnin' so much with him,
There simply was no better craft.

Sorry, I'm not used to checking Frogstar World B.
Original Roll String: 3d6
3 6-Sided Dice: (3, 1, 4) = 8
Fickle, cold and harsh or caring and warm
Strongly opinionated or barely invested, but a constant

Silicon's just S.
Silver's Ar, not Si. It's definitely some metal, I'm just completely blanking on what it is.
Uh... yeah my mind is just blanking completely here. >_<

Is buzzer code closest without going over or just closest?
Also would JDGA have incurred any sort of penalty had he guessed wrong?

The winner of the buzz code is like the tiebreaker for Big Brother. The person who is closest without going over rings in. If both players are over, then the player who is closest will ring in.

And there is no penalty for guessing wrong, other than your opponents getting a chance to add to their score.
