I think that there is a good chance that at least one of bjc and Salamence is scum. Of the two, I still think that Salamence is more likely.

Salamence: I cannot see the town motivation in faking that innocent on bjc. Particularly when bjc was a constant null to scum read for him during Day 1. So, with this in mind, it makes no sense for town Salamence to do a complete 180 between days 1 and 2 and start sheeping bjc's reads.

I also like this post, perhaps bar the lynch pool. I still think bjc is probably town but the fact he hasn't been cleared brings him right back into it. I'd still have elk ahead of bjc, but that's more for what he hasn't done rather than what he has done.

but the bolded is surely spot on - I was wondering if there was even less scum motivation in claiming then un-claiming, but of course the motivation is to put the pressure back on bjc.

Um, did Salamence break a rule of some sort and need to request replacement? I'm not sure exactly what just went on there, but he looked like he was part of the game and contributing before suddenly that happened.

I find it hard to imagine a town player suddenly requesting replacement like that unless there was a rule related problem or a sudden emergency V/LA, but according to some statistics cited in my Newbie game, scum under pressure are the most likely players to flake, and this request didn't sound like an RL-induced replacement.
