Not fond of either team repping at worlds, but I'd prefer LMQ. I'm willing to bet that TSM would crack under the pressure.

Also TSM only have two NA players, so yeah...

CLG had 2/5 foreigners too.

Cap foreign players in a region to 2/5. Only LMQ and TSM have issues, then.

It prevents every region becoming Korean/Chinese players, since they produce the most top-tier players

So you'd prefer the trash NA teams to go to Worlds and get stuffed?

And TSM is good enough to probably finish 3rd in any group.

They might stand a chance against the European teams this time. I'm not really convinced. Fnatic will be there, but don't think they'll be as good as last year, deeper hole they have to come from etc. I feel alliance is making it work against teams that are simply worse than them, and I have no clue how quickly that could come apart. SK's performance has never been bad, those guys could be fun to watch, but to make something happen there you have to be more than "not bad" or "solid".

But it doesn't feel close to last years worlds where the whole of Europe had been a hard competition, fnatic being in shape and obv Europe had Gambit at a tournament (which was simply something different).

I think C9 (which was simply the best NA team at last worlds) benefitted a lot from LMQ coming to NA and Bjergsen coming to TSM, Dexter to CLG and Dig showing some impressive play through the splits. They got competition, but are still a solid team. Hell, they are somewhere ending up at the top of the league again. LMQ obviously is a team that could gain victories. I kind of hope curse won't make it. Don't think they belong there. Being inconsistent in NA is something, but hoping voyboy carries on some odd pick against top teams is something else. TSM? I wish they could play better than what they are showing here, but I don't see it happen. c9 and lmq could step it up, which you have to.

All in all, NA might win a couple more games against EU this time, I feel.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

I mean, yeah, neither NA nor EU are going to compete for the title. But I think we see at least one team from each LCS region make it out of groups.

C9 will make it out of group unless they draw something really rough (china 2 Korea 3 SK, or something along those lines).

Curse will have a decent shot getting out of group if they get a relatively easy group (Sea 2 eu 2 Korea 1 would be really good for them). I think they want to draw Korea 1 so that they can't get Korea 2 or 3.

This is assuming c9 1 Crs 3.

I think it's hard to argue that c9 1 LMQ 2 Crs 3 isn't the most likely outcome right now (Crs is always 4th jokes aside)

This is the post of a person who has not seen Samsung Galaxy Blue play a game.

SKT T1 is a 2nd tier team in the OGN right now and might not even make worlds.

I'm saying they'd want ssb because it means they don't have Edward/alliance and a Korean team.

I think SKT just lost the tiebreaker. That means they're not going to Worlds, right, or do they have one last chance?

One last chance but there's like three other teams, I think.

Also they got utterly destroyed

SKTT1 are in shambles right now. They need to either make some major roster changes, or faker should just leave.

If you've seen them against other teams in Korea though, only White and Blue can reliably beat them (yes KTA can beat them, but reliably is key, KTA can't reliably beat anyone). NLB they looked unbelievable.

If they hadn't met White in the quarterfinals TWICE, they'd be going to worlds on points, 100%.

This is Samsung White, formerly Ozone, who fell apart for Worlds last year. I think they have something to prove.

Meanwhile, from beneath, the man who swore his goal was to "destroy the SK Telecom organization completely" rises.

They would have gone to worlds, and had a relatively weak showing (relatively being the operative word).

They have major issues to deal with right now, like their team actually becomin faker and friends.

Well honestly I still can't see a non-Korean team beating SKT.

They have major issues, but the sole reason we're not seeing them at worlds, problems or no, is some INCREDIBLY bad luck and the unbelievable power of Samsung White. I'll write up the saga if they really don't make it and extend the curse, because remember back in OGN Winter not only were they the best team in the World, they looked better than they did in the S3 world finals. Not drop a match? They didn't
drop a game
. They were literally perfect.

I think it would be possible (unlikely, but possible) that they draw a group they would end up losing in. Alliance/OMG in the same group as skt would probably be their worst draw (OMG is the strongest non-Korean pool 2 group, and alliance is probably the best western team right now). I also don't think skt would like the alliance matchup (froggen+shook makes fakers life a lot harder, and skt have been looking especially weak bot lane)

Did Najin Shield pick Janna? It looks like SKT1 banned Janna in at least one of their games against them.
