yeah, i don't really get how people prefer TSM except they adopted them historically, but C9 has always seemed pretty likable to me.

I think every team is vulnerable to drop a round, and SSB could certainly lose one to C9. But it seems unlikely C9 will pick up the needed 3.

I really dislike the seeding here for everyone. We're likely to have our real "finals" match in the semifinals and then the finals will be a wild stomp with SSW crushing whatever poor team ends up against them in the finals. EDG could conceivably put up a fight if they make it there, but OMG/SHRC/NWS don't stand a chance. Other than SSB/SSW, I think C9 is the other truly competitive team.

I think SHRC will upset edg.

They have much better momentum coming in, and have generally looked better.

right now, more people in the pool think TSM will upset SSW than EDG will beat SHRC

TSM upsetting SSW has as much a chance as Kabum had of getting out of groups.

That is, none.

anyone know if cumbz has actually predicted better or if he's just picked contrary to the analyst consensus so it seems like he's an oracle when an upset happens?

Can't speak for all, but I feel like most of them have been honest predictions. There's probably a couple that were simply contrarian picks.

Unrelated: Despite how much I might've wanted Curse to be the 3rd team, I'm kinda glad from a power standpoint that LMQ made it instead. I could not see Curse winning any of the games LMQ has (or those they didn't). Don't get me wrong, that 3rd place match was probably the strongest they've ever been, and if they came in Cop might've actually stayed with them, but I doubt they'd have made it far, if at all.

I think with the way Crs has been improving, they would have put up a pretty decent showing (although probably not as strong as LMQ did)

Oh, I don't doubt that they'd have a
decent
showing, but instead of things being a tie between Fnatic and LMQ for 2nd, it would've been between Fnatic and OMG instead with Curse decidedly in fourth.

i didn't mean they weren't honest picks. Just that the correct ones stand out more when they cut against the grain.

It was like that at S3 worlds too.
SKT T1 vs Najin Black Sword was the "real finals match."
SKT T1 vs Royal Club was just SKT plowing through Royal.

But then again the seeding make sense because SSB v SSW finals would be hard for people to get fired up about.

In post 1824, xRECKONERx wrote:Also. That video Oman posted is EXACTLY why I'm a fucking C9 fan. That shit is so cool... Most stressful, important match of their careers and when they are en route to victory, they're laughing and being friends and giving a shoutout to a team they've bonded with over the tournament. That warms my heart. Compare that to Dyrus, who shouts, "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY LANE BITCH".

C9 is just a class act, while TSM is trashy.

This. I am a Curse fan, but during playoffs I was almost hoping that they would lose for the sake of NA at Worlds, because LMQ is heads and shoulders better imo.
I swear I'm trying my best

Are you kidding me.

That would be the greatest finals of all time. I would be pumped as fuck. Both teams would be out there, both of them knowing both nothing and everything was on the line, just playing their hearts out, the two best teams in the world... yeah, I want to see that.

Two teams from the same country making finals is impossible to be hyped about.

You don't watch worlds for watching the top level of play, you watch for the nationalism. Go back to OGN.

Brother, I ain't never left OGN. I been watching OGN since Blaze was a top team.

I watch for the games and the moments. OGN delivers both in style.

P.S. "Get out of my lane, bitch!" is hilarious and a perfectly reasonable thing for a pro to shout. There's a different between "heat of the moment" and something you had to sit down and think about, like a tweet or summoner name.

I just think it's really funny that the C9 fanboys think their shit doesn't stink, and try to tote themselves as different that Korean fans, or TSM fans, but they're essentially the exact same.
